Great tip with the draw ratteling around, I put adhesive foam ( bastion 75mm x 10mm adhesive expansion foam) from bunnings behind the drawer on the inside of the frame 🤙 When you close the drawer it hits the foam for a tight latch Gone is the rattle 👌
Ive got these in my 80 series, put in back in 2017 and no problem whatsoever. Previously I had a single home made draw for my fridge to sit on top off and was researching on what size roller bearings to use for the draw when these popped up. I went and had a look and then checked out the ones at ARB. To me they were identical but over $2k cheaper so I thought what the heck i'll give em a go and theyre still just like the day I bought them. Done many trips up the high country, drawers always loaded and not had a single issue with them. Some people knock em cause theyre made in China but so are the ARB ones, probably in the same factory as well Would not hesitate on getting them again
Yep, we agree. Love them or hate them, the one thing Kings and 4WD Supacentre have done is make things more affordable for the average punter and given the big brands a wakeup call that they can't screw over the consumer as easily as they once did. People will still buy based on brand alone but most of us have budgets we need to stick to and compromises to make. Thanks for watching.
My set have been in a Navarro D40 for 3 years before I moved them into my 2019 Hilux.. 4 years in this one. Off road, demolition tools daily and fridge set up. Just replaced a handle for $15 after all that ! For price it can’t be beat.
Nice one. Mine are still going good, the ally trim has been ripped out a few times so I'll need to relocate the screw. The carpet is lifting on the wings but other than that they've been great. Thanks for watching!
You have hit the nail on the head with all your comments guys, I feel the same way about the manufacturers charging a bit more for quality upgrades because they are cheap compared to other brands. I have just installed in my Holden Trailblazer a single drawer set up with the fridge slide on the back floor instead of up on a drawer setup owing to the fact my wife is unable to see in the fridge. But I have to admit to a lot of upgrades on the drawer system with a new thicker top, with new carpet to the top and sides (removed the aluminium edge mould) and carpeted the edges. Being a 7 seater it is all mounted on a carpeted 12mm ply base over the 6th and 7th back seats. The rattle in my drawer unit was fixed by attaching a front door lock striker plate with with an adjustable tang over the oversize hole and glued some foam to the back of the drawer which eliminated the clunking noise. A word to anyone buying the drawer units check the nyloc nuts on the runner bearings they were not up tight on my set.
Hi Ron, great feedback. To be honest I didn't even think to check the nyloc nuts 😅 And I'll probably end up changing the ply too. Next mod will be a 12v panel in the wing. I plan on updating the 12v system in the truck too, eventually haha. Thanks for watching! ~ Matt
Great Video. I agree with the price. Price is very cheap, quality is pretty good for what you're paying but if they just spend some more money with their manufacturer to get better quality stainless and timber and redesign the fridge slide they'll kill it even more.
Hi Ann, that was one that Gaz made up from scratch, he's since changed the entire draw system but I will look into making a fridge cage for mine, eventually. Thanks for watching! Matto
Seriously use a M6 thread tap in all Rivet Nuts. During manufacturing a burr develops, use the thread tap to clear the burr otherwise the bolts will cease mid thread.
Keen to see how you drop the draw height for the fridge slide, my fridge is tall and only just fits under the aeroklass canopy on the raptor. Can’t put the drop slide in as it’ll push fridge too high, can’t quite get the fridge door open as it hits the canopy upper door
I was looking at the MSA drop slide for the Patrol but I have an Evakool 80L and it's too long and the slide wouldn't let the barn door close. Gaz actually pulled the Titan drawers out and made his own and was able to get the Fridge right down. I'm looking at a tilt slide that will come out and the tilt the fridge forward and allow the lid to open up more. It's on the list of things I have to still do, the list is getting longer faster than I can get stuff of it haha. Thanks for watching! Home made drawers PT2 ua-cam.com/video/LAhnFvORVo0/v-deo.html
Cheers guys, great video, needed to hear a lot of this. Still figure I might get one, even if it is a temporary thing. I have an open try ute with fitted tool boxes, figure having one would be good to chuck the swag on. How do you reckon they'd go with rain - would they be waterproof enough? I figure for a few hundred dollars you could replace them every other year even and still get you money's worth.
No worries 👍 If it was just a sprinkle of rain every now an then it might be ok. The drawer rollers/bearings are not sealed and the ply on top is only about 12mm thick and not very dense. The drawers themselves are also not sealed at all, there is a gap between the top of the drawer face and the underside of the lid about 20mm. I'd have a look around for a second handy off market place and bang that in and see how it goes (cheap ones go quick!). You can always replace the top with thicker ply or even marine ply and outdoor carpet and could probably work out some kind of seal for the drawers to keep the critters out if nothing else. The carcass itself is quite solid but only zinc (I think?) coated so might need to give it a spray with some kill rust. It'd be a cool little project. Thanks for watching!
i like the fridge cage. might have to steal that.
Not bad for home made, thanks for watching

Yes agree, just spend a little more on R&D and get a big improvement in quality.
Sweet. Thanks so much.
No problem, thanks for watching!

@@ChaseTheWeekend awesome, thanks again. Love your work!
@@ChaseTheWeekend The ply on the top of mine was was cheap 9mm, I replaced mine with 12mm but it is better quality ply than Kings.
the wing kits are rubbish.
Yeah not the best. The glue they use for the carpet is not real good after a while too
they are very heavy
Yes, that is my thoughts too, I wonder how they compare to other brands or full timber, I will need to do some research. Thanks for watching!
