actually the more I wear it the more sandalwood comes through for me and it’s becoming a creamy milky, sandalwood fragrance mostly then vanilla then the Madeline’s. Sadly, I only discovered gold in the 2020s so I don’t recall the vintage. So can’t chime in unfortunately.

I just ordered and received a 100 ml bottle of Under the Stars last week, and I ordered a 100 ml bottle of this new Afternoon Delight, but it hasn't shipped yet. I already had a 100 ml bottle of Coffee Break, Jazz Club, Beach Walk, and By the Fireplace, and 10 ml bottles of Autumn Vibes, From the Garden, On a Date, Sailing Day, and When the Rain Stops, and a 7 ml splash bottle of Whispers in the Library and now a 7 ml splash bottle of Bubble Bath too. This morning, I layered Under The stars, Coffee Break, and Parfums de Marly Perseus. I think I used a spray or two of Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade too, but it seemed like a good combination of scents. The Replica fragrances project more, but don't last as long, since they are EDT, Ombre Nomade is similar to Under the Stars, but it's an EDP, so it lasts longer and has a stronger scent, but doesn't project as much, and I just love the bright, refreshing grapefruit scent in Perseus and the ambergris (or more likely Ambroxide lol) scent when it dries. I probably smelled like a continental breakfast lol no one at work complained, so I guess it didn't bother anyone. I think most of my coworkers have seen me crying at my desk at one point, so I'm not sure they would say anything even if I did smell bad. It's been a rough past couple years. I really want to get Under the Lemon Trees, and I'm excited that my order of Afternoon Delight is supposed to come with a Replica cap! Like a cap to use on the Replica fragrance bottles, I guess. It looks like the cap that they include with the fragrance L'eau, that I don't think they actually sell any more.

I was patiently waiting for your review of this fragrance. I purchased it as soon as it was released but found myself disappointed. The sweetness was very synthetic to me. But I really am hoping that it will change and shine in the winter. Its not uncommon for me to dislike a fragrance at first, then revisit it after the weather changes and its completely different. I completely agree that its too expensive.

Personally I don’t detect on my skin, but that’s not to say that it doesn’t project that way on other people. I wonder how this will perform in the summer months? I really like this fragrance and I’m looking forward to purchasing a full bottle. I Like every component of this fragrance from the opening to the dry now. And you described this fragrance to the T.
I'm waiting for Afternoon Delight to arrive right now, but the discontinuation of Whispers in the Library is really sad IMO. I'm happy to say that I still have a large bottle of that one, but I will definitely miss it when it's gone.

I have madeleine trays and used to make them regularly. I was addicted to them. (can’t now because of celiac and hashimotos disease😒) I will have to get a sample, because I looove the smell of madeleines and also love sandalwood.

I’ve seen more negative comments on this than Tom Ford’s Vanilla Sex, which I own and happy to report VS has gotten better!

I do the same thing! The weather definitely matters! I enjoy white florals (neroli, frangipani, tiare, etc.) but less so in cold weather.

Seems like "madeleine-vanilla" trend is gaining teaction...but Masque Milano "madeleine" (more complex & not only about madeleines) is the OG ❤
