Truth. Have you been to Lechonera La Piraña?
I’m from Puerto Rico, and it’s so cool to see people from other countries enjoying our food. Also, pronouncing alcapurria can be pretty difficult. 😅 The “rr” has a sound that’s not in the English pronunciation. It’s almost like the sound of a firing machine gun or a growl.
I love little language lessons like this. Thank you for the tip! What's your favorite snack food from P.R.? I will try to find it!
@@unculturedtravel Basery: Pastellillitos de Guayaba, Quesitos, Malta, Almejitas, Panetelas.
I was there a few months ago and I promise it's the best you will ever get. Don't be scared of the neighborhood just stand in line and enjoy.
Truth. The best. Have you had Lechon in Puerto Rico?
We need more exposure to our great puerto food. Great video
Poor guy 🙈 he was trying left overs🐖...
And was very respectful...PRican food is delicious but you have choose the right spots.
Yum , I wish we could have some lechoneras here in Tennessee, I know how delicious is that pork!!! TY! 👍
Worth a visit for some Lechon next time you are in NYC! Next time I'm in Tennessee what's the bbq joint i need to hit?
@@unculturedtravel I really can't tell you most of the time I cook/eat at home, but I know there is many places in TN with a great bbq food!!!
@@HomeEF Fair enough! Well what's a local TN dish I should look out for? I drove from Knoxville to Memphis once, what an awesome state!
Good food need to try
SALUDOS DESDE EL PUEBLO [LAS PIEDRAS], [PUERTO RICO] 🇵🇷 🏄♂🐢
WTF? Dirty kitchen too!
Great food! End of day after I think a crazy service!
You got there too late.. Gotta see him when he opens up on the weekends ONLY.
Yes, next time earlier! Luckily he had a little left! Any spots you recommend?
he said 4 ever what ever lol
Have you had PR Lechon many places?
@@unculturedtravel yes im p.r. i had full lechon many times yumm yumm..candy meat thumbs up on all your vids
i just reviewed this place, watch my latest upload. HE IS A TRIP! 🐷
Where's your favorite P.R. food in the Bronx?
I used to eat at La Isla Cuchifritos yrs ago. It was excellent then one day I notice the food was off. The next time I ordered from them, talking to them, they said they were different owners. I don't even think they were Puerto Rican. The food was off again and haven't went back. This was about 9/10yrs ago. Did they sell it back? New owners? It was so good then it was not.
I went to Lechonera La Isla last week and the lechon was very good. Very close to Lechonera La Piraña.
Ese food truck se ve grave…
The food looks amazing but he needs to improve with his hygiene.
Falta De HIGIENE, no lo comería.
The lechonero guy was a bit unhinged, loco, imo. The kola can is not from PR. That Malta India you drank is from PR. At the cafeteria with alcapurrias the guy on the left is not PR. Pastelillo pronounced with a "yo" at the end not a pastelito sound at the end. Good vid in general.
He was a good man! Maybe serious, maybe not :) Thanks for the language tips and the insight my guy. Any P.R. Dishes I should look for next?
@@unculturedtravel he got me worry somewhat with the machete.
@@joeycarr1398 He's harmless (I think :) ), he definitely knew how to use that thing. I noticed he kept his hands far away from the blade when chopping so not his first rodeo.
He’s harmless, it’s just an act.
@@realdeal139 And a great act at that! It makes it a fun place to visit. How many times have you been?
Your definitely not invited to 149 in Jackson ever 🤦♂️
Haha what’s another good spot in the area? So many good places up there.
Someone help him get his UA-cam channel going so he can live to see his dream which is his own restaurant. He feeds so many ppl hungry for free, that away to pay this man back. Countless homeless ppl and anyone hungry. The least we can do fir him 💯
This guy is GOLD! I recently made a food review video on his spot, check it out. 🐖
A great cook! Did you try the mofongo or octopus salad?
Putting ketchup or salt on un touched food is very disrespectful
Malta has a shit load of caffeine and sugar. 😂
Machete man honto recipe
The food looks delicious, but the place looks filthy
Love this video about the south bronx and the Puerto Rican food. The Morcilla down 😆 🤣
Such an underrated place to eat. The Lechon was so good. What PR dish should I try next?
@@unculturedtravel morcilla
Whats up man
Look for carlito hahaha
Thank you!
Where is his spot?
At the bottom of every episode in the notes there are the addresses and names of the restaurants! This spot is Lechonera La Piraña in the Bronx! Have you had any good Lechon before? The owner was awesome and the food was delicious.
El tipo no le gusta limpiar el trailer o COCINA

Is this really a Mexican place masquerading as a Cuchifrito? 🤥
Haha, beyond Pastelillos and Alcapurrias there were many more Puerto Rican dishes, it passed the test for me but what do I know!? I think only a Puerto Rican could tell you for certain if it's the real deal! What's something I should try next time I'm at a Cuchifrito?
@@unculturedtravel Regeno de papas and Pernil.
@@uiu510 Woa, just googled "Relleno de Papas" they look great, what do you typically drink when eating these dishes?
@@unculturedtravel There are many natural shakes made out of fruits like papaya, guava, banana ect ect.
@@unculturedtravel I also recommend "Mondongo Soup."
