Yesterday I was running around in doubloon location, a musket guy started shooting me, I rode to him and 3 more people jumped on me from behind the stone he was standing on, I started running away and dodging them, eventually we ran to another group of ~3 players and these two groups started fighting each other, I successfully ran away, peak gaming experience 👍
This game has been amazing. Played for 2 days and am almost lvl 60. That shit wouldn’t have happened in previous versions. Only one I can remember having this smooth of leveling was the FIRST beta.
Jay was once so enthusiastic for this game. Poured a lot of passion into it. But you can hear in his voice that he’s put off by the past several years. And even though he doesn’t hate the game, the passion is gone. IMO that’s entirely on AGS for how they managed their fans over the past several years and there’s a lot of trust that will need to be built back up…
Honestly, I've followed the story and I'm really enjoying the game. It's really well done and I found myself spending more time taking in the world now I know more about it.
For me it is worth. I played since launch with some Breaks in between, almost got 1k hours. With the Aeternum i started new, Play with Controller and so far I enjoy IT a Lot. The new storytelling is good, Controller feels great. I think IT IS the best Version of the game so far. And since I already loved the original NW for it's beautiful world, crafting and espacially Open world PVP, I am Happy to re-expirience it in a new way.
With the additional gear score increase to 725 dungeons have not been popping. There are just a few things to do for me endgame now. Which is the opposite of what players had been asking for. I think Amazon will simply never understand endgame, which is why this game gets some kind of "relaunch every year or so.
Imagine this release in 2021, this game is top tier. Yeah old players like myself have burn out, but I’m recommending this to anyone who likes mostly any type of game! It has it all.
I hope that AGS uses the lessons learned from New World to ensure their LOTR mmo doesn't suffer the same fate. I tried to return to the game but my time is done, both on my main and on fresh start. I think for a new player there's definitely a lot of game here.
Change in GS again! NW has absolutely no idea how to take care of their players. They could just at least give one of each matrix to existing players as compensation for GS change....
Havent played since a few months after release. Im having a great time coming back. Running around flagged alone and getting jumped and surving some is ao much fun. Even getting jumped and losing is fun. Usually take one of them out qith me

Well at that moment, with the coconuts hard to get and time gated, by the time I have upgraded my artifacts at least doubloons wouldn't be a problem. I could really do with upgrading my artifacts
Took a break after the Elysian Wilds update and I am having a fun time. The new Cutless Keys is cool and they redid the entire area, not just the PVP zone. The new raid is very good and way better than the worm. My main complaint is that the path to get 725 gear has effectively killed dungeons runs. Why not have 725 drops in M3's?
@@pkdsince05 Absolutely. From what I can tell the only way to get 725 gear is the raid and Cutlass Keys dabloon runs. That's going to get very quick. I will still play tho, it's a silly game to chill out on.
Def experienced some teaming. I was just trying to get Lost kills in the Citadel for the other artifact flail. The zone is just a bunch of campers waiting to gank with the blunderbussy. I had a lot of fun trying to do the raid though! Hard to find a solid group which is frustrating. I also can’t upgrade my artifacts to 725 right now. I heard it’s bugged but it would be nice for the raid.
I've been around since the beginning and I'm having a blast on fresh start. Whether or not it has longevity left in it will be up to AGS and if they can deliver on focusing on new end game content in a timely manner. That's a big if, but at least for now I'm still enjoying the game well into my five thousandish hours. For the $70ish I've spent on the game, the return is an amazing value. It's worth buying, and it's worth coming back to at least for a bit if you have been taking a break.

Whats annoying is they put out new servers that effectively turn my legacy server to a ghost town. So unless you want to start a new toon your not going to see all these new people.
Best way to level up through PvE is doing MSQ (it will take you straight to lvl 65), so I don't quite see your point on there being no linear, clear path of progression for new players.
I am praying the road map they plan on releasing slaps. Because the experience so far as a returnjng pc player starting its has been excellent. The story an actual story is actually decent and the voice acting you can tell they paid good money for its not cheap feeling at all it feels like care and planning was put into it. The opening cinematic was well done. My only thing that im worried about is what end game is coming and if its coming at all. However i have been watching streams and the new raid seems to be very well recieved.
First game in a while that’s has had me stayin up late and waking up early just to play it lbs. They got a banger on their hands unless the problem of no endgame (something I don’t know about personally but returning pc players won’t stop complaining about) is a real thing and they slack on the updates. I’m cautiously hopeful though
I played this on day 1 and left last year. But this new release brings back lots of nostalgia and also at the same time feel like a completely different and better game. Much better for casual players and less grinding ❤
Just got it yesterday morning and can say it’s been good so far. I remember it coming out a few years back but I never got it on pc. From what I’m hearing it’s probably good I didn’t.
I have around 1300 hours in the game, now having a lot of fun in the new doubloon location on fresh server, I like this random pvp and thrilling looting Biggest disadvantage - there still are groups of 3-7 people running around together and killing solo players, I am not that good to win these 1vX fights
I had 5k+ hours in this game. I stopped almost 2 years ago. It is a beautiful game. Great picture, challenging PVE and PVP. Amazon devs are *** though.
The only thing i hate is some content are locked out like the mounts on another paid expantion...AFTER PAYING 60$....all competitors mmo are free and mounts are free
What you mean? The 60$ includes the base game+dlc. If you buy just the base game from someplace else it's 30$ with the dlc being 30$. Where you getting the extra cost from?

Err NYsa legacy raiding is going incredible, it doesn't seem hurt. I am on fresh and Nysa and ngl, i can tell fresh has more but Nysa is adapting very well to raids. So I don't understand your take as someone whose done multiple raids with different players

The answer is yes. People who quit the game at launch because it was bad haven’t even given it a second look and it’s hard to see when you play it off and on year round but they have flipped this game around on the same level as cyberpunk. But it gets zero credit. The console launch was a genius way to save this game because those people on console who like MMOs have nothing but p2w trash. The devs perfected some of these things. The story and quests are totally fine if you ask me, but I don’t look for things to complain about I just complain when something is bad. I don’t really care about story but I’ve played for years now and learned so much leveling this time and had some cool moments where questions got answered. Go find a live service dev who will do that, I come from Destiny they stretched the same story out for 10 years with no answers really. But please try it again or try it for the first time.

To be honest, I loved the game as well, but after a year I realized I don't need a demanding software wanting to be an MMO that has a bad render optimization and even worse combat. They could use less RAM and less GPU to make the same thing in a smarter configuration. You can blame it all on "content", but 30-40% of the OG players (not the alpha, the actual beta) couldn't run it perfectly and we lived in 2021 at the time. Why the fuck are we upgrading systems or put the standards high if the economy of players is not saturated for the success of our product.
With my friends, we switched to Throne and Liberty and enjoying so far. There is a learning curve (If you have played Lost ark it will be easier.) No one was OK to pay for the DLC.
I came back to the game hoping they finally fixed and made it fun to play. Unfortunately they didn't. game still buggy and TBH no major changes for a return player. I only recommend this to a new player you will enjoy it for a while.
had no bugs or crashes , game is smoothier , story line and cutscenes is great , plenty of changes in level up for character, weapons etc, gear drops way better and according to what you wear , , the FFA island is amazing , doublooms come easy also from the CK mobs andd chest besiddes FFA , looking forward for the raid, btw i have 3k hours !
autoaim even nerfed is pure cancer in Pvp especially with blunderbuss....had so many OPRs with ridiculous 5-10men blunderbuss rampages...hitting everyone, everytime
It's exactly the same game with an even clunkier UI, a new PVP zone filled to the brim with people teaming, a new raid, a different questing camera, and console peasants that haven't reached max level and think the game is 10/10. That is what we waited a year for.
Brimstone Sands brought back 130k players. Rise of the Angry Earth brought back 70k players. Aeternum brought back 50k players. The game is dying because it can't keep players. Bringing new players into the ecosystem is pointless because, like in the last 3 years, they stop playing around New Year's because they realize there is no (good) endgame content. The same problem that has existed for 3 years still exists. This is not hate. This is a fact that new and old players on Hopium will run into the same wall again. AGS doesn't have people to fix the game, add content and work on the Lord of the Rings MMO at the same time.

What about the bots swooping up resource nodes? Those used to be one of my biggest gripes about the game.
They really should have went with Guild Wars 2 style "questing" where it just happens dynamically in the wild.

There is merit to it... AGS was notoriously bad at listening or caring about what we wanted. But, right now, the game feels great and fun.

I've turned off aimlock for myself, still get kills. Combat feels overall better and aimlock strength isn't bad

This raid is so difficult like a wow easy mode raid , I did it with pugs easy, but look amazing and is very fun

had no bugs or crashes , game is smoothier , story line and cutscenes is great , plenty of changes in level up for character, weapons etc, gear drops way better and according to what you wear , , the FFA island is amazing , doublooms come easy also from the CK mobs andd chest besiddes FFA , looking forward for the raid, btw i have 3k hours !
autoaim even nerfed is pure cancer in Pvp especially with blunderbuss....had so many OPRs with ridiculous 5-10men blunderbuss rampages...hitting everyone, everytime
It's exactly the same game with an even clunkier UI, a new PVP zone filled to the brim with people teaming, a new raid, a different questing camera, and console peasants that haven't reached max level and think the game is 10/10. That is what we waited a year for.

Bringing new players into the ecosystem is pointless because, like in the last 3 years, they stop playing around New Year's because they realize there is no (good) endgame content. The same problem that has existed for 3 years still exists.
This is not hate. This is a fact that new and old players on Hopium will run into the same wall again.
AGS doesn't have people to fix the game, add content and work on the Lord of the Rings MMO at the same time.
