Thanks for being honest, ive been trying to decide wether to learn boxing or jiu-jitsu , for self defense. Im learning towards boxing but could use some input on what you guys think.
As someone in a similar situation as you, my unsolicited advice learn boxing first, then some grappling, Gracie jiu jitsu, judo, or catch wrestling (my choice) if you can find it.
Yes boxing is very useful in the street against street fighters that have no footwork and only throw haymakers in boxing with combinations you can break their defense overwhelm them you level change and street fighters aren't used to getting overwhelmed with boxing combos which gives you an advantage
@@timothyprice9064 yes it will because combination punching is not what street having good footwork and boxing is great Street fighters don't expect footwork for slipping punches or combination punching because they're so used to throwing haymakers ask for boxing there is body shots and headshots combinations so yes boxing is a great tool for the street as well
Stay out of RANGE until you’re ready to throw.
Some people don’t know this but this is the most important rule in a street fight
💯
Thanks
You are welcome. Thank you

@ynotlearn4190 thanks! I was thinking the same thing , boxing first then judo or ju jitsu after.
If I train boxing for one year will it help in a street fight.

So you're asking if getting in shape, and learning how to punch while learning how to block and slip punches, will it help you in a fight?
