- As part of our latest HO scale GMD-1 run, we're doing special releases for both the Winnipeg Railway Museum and the Waterloo Central Railway, numbers 1900 and 1012 respectively. 10% of proceeds will be donated to each entity to help them continue their important work of acquiring and restoring historically significant railway equipment. It's win-win!

When I was a little boy, my Dad took me to the local CN yards where I got to ride in a GMD-1 while it roamed around the yard. I’ll never forget that. It’s the main reason I’ve ordered a GMD-1 from Rapido :)
Only one? 😉
@@Zebrails well. For now lol
The horn gag had me laughing...especially the Earth shot. 😂 ...and you should definitely do a model of #1001.👍
The video turned out even better then I hoped! I love the editing Jeremy did! Doing this video with Jason was probably my highlight of the year! Thank you guys for making these awesome models!
Glad you enjoyed it! And it's always a fun time with Jason!
That is great please to vist if I lived in Canada. Liked the purple engine at the end. So the horn that is what shook the earth that day 😂😂😂😂😂
GOD BLESS 🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖
I love the GMD1 engines, and what a great horn gag! I'm quite happy with my Rapido 1147 too.
Thanks!
This is why I love Rapido!
That horn got me excited about hockey.
Tis the season!
If you're going the MLW S series route next (based on that little quip at the end), we'd love to have you visit us at the CACV. We've got MLW S4 CN 8181 (presently CACV 3051) and MLW S7 CN 8223, both operational.
I was wondering if that was Bob Fallowfield as he was getting settled in. I miss seeing him on TrainMasters TV.
Did anyone else was liking waiting for Aliens in a flying saucer saying “ do you hear something? I don’t think so?” 😂
Somewhere in the future, I see a GMD-1 in my fleet! I've already got quite a bit of equipment from you guys! But if you guys decide to do NYCT subway equipment, I'll just sign my whole paycheck to y'all!
great video,liked 👍👍👍👍😊😊
They should try getting a hold of cp 1278
I think Cando is still running a GMD1 in Winnipeg. It might be the last operational unit in the 'Peg'. 😢
The CN Campus FIT training yard has a GMD1 used for training, so I suppose 2 in Winnipeg.
You guys should look into the NW5, looks a lot like this locomotive and there's only one left in the world and it still runs in Minnesota in Duluth
I was always fascinated by the nw5. It would be neat if they made a non brass model.
Actually, three NW5s remain out of the original thirteen.
• GN 192 at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum
• Fort Street Union Depot 2 at the Florida Railroad Museum
• Southern 2100 at the Massachusetts Central Railroad
Super. It reminds me of an RS-1325 a little bit. I need an excuse to have a Canadian locomotive on my western states themed layout. Speaking of Canada, if you are looking for an unusual switcher, check out a GMD GMDH-1. And if that picture at the end of your video is a hint of the future, I'd like to order three please. 💙 T.E.N.
3:50 But, Bob... it's also an ex-CN locomotive. I thought you were strictly CP...
John
p.s. I *soundly [and dcc] love my eight GMD-1's (including both 1900's, as built and noodle versions.) Okay... I love ALL my Rapido locomotives (and the one "Oh So Steamy" SG.)
As long as it doesn't SAY CN, he's good!
Luca
Timmies!
I'm at work, can't really watch right now, but please say N scale, please say N SCALE! *Fingers and toes crossed*
It’s doubtful, the last run of the GMD-1 locomotives they did were eventually sold at reduced pricing because of poor sales. They do well with HO models N scale not so much.
@@hughm5996 I know. That was the first N scale locomotive I think? Maybe they over produced, I don't know. I have 2 and they are great, I see others seem happy with theirs too. Some of their stuff has sold like mad in N scale.
Now that i have watched it, no mention of N scale. I'm disappointed, but not surprised.
I saw someone with a gmd-1 but with six axle trucks I don’t know what that’s called
Those are also GMD-1 diesels. Some used an A-1-A style truck with a centre idler axle for operating on light rail branches.
