Chainbrain Oh that is so cool dude. They’re my all time favorite metal band ever. The band that helped me get into heavy metal. Or any of actual power metal for that matter. I tell you if it wasn’t for Dragonforce, I would not have listened to any power metal bands like Helloween, Stratovarious Blind Guardian, Hammerfall, Sonata Arctica, Avantasia, Galneryus, Sabaton, Firewind, Nightwish even, Rhapsody Of Fire or any power metal band that I heard, discovered or listened to since I was in high school. Yeah. Dragonforce became the first power metal band and the best kind of heavy metal that I’ve ever heard since I started listening to metal back when I was in middle school I think but it’s been a long time since then so I don’t remember. But I discovered Dragonforce from guitar hero and all of a sudden now they’ve become the number one metal band of all time in my opinion basically.

I met Herman at NAMM a long assed time ago. It just so happened i was standing in front of a blank table that was about to be used for him to sign autographs. So since I was already there and basically at the front of the line on accident. I said fuck it and got myself ready for an autograph.
So he shows up, and I ask him "man, I cant even conceive how you play that fast". So Herman says "You want to know the secret to playing fast like that? I'll write it on here with my autograph but you cant show it to anyone ok?".
At that point he grabs the flyers he was autographing, signs his name with his secret to playing fast written below it.

I asked Herman Li to play Cry of the Brave once before a show & he just told me "oh that's a hard one". He's super fucking cool. He'd make "American eyes at his other guitarist all the time, and they'd steal each others beer on stage and shit. Herman would walk up to Sam just mid solo and put his foot on His Whammy bar and just start fucking him up, but kinda in a way where he could still make it sound cool. All around great band live.
10/10 would also sub to Herman on twitch.
That would explain why dragonforce sounds so different live🤔

Chainbrain just curious but does rock smith actually help you learn how to play guitar? And if so what do you need to have for rock smith to work is it a computer only program? Curious I have a cheap end Ltd guitar and I’ve always wanted to learn to play since I’m a huge metal head but have never been able to sit down to practice or know what exactly to start practicing first. Get discouraged a lot since I want to be able to shred and shit right off the bat lol. Any help would be much appreciated and great video!!!! Love that bc rich v thought about buying one a few years ago but I hate tremolo systems for tuning they are a bitch in my opinion. Had a Ibanez I sold to a friend because it had a tremolo so that’s why I went out and bought a cheap ltd hard tail from amazon.

Imagine learning this as your first song, start at .1x speed and when your good at that go up to .2x and so on.
To me playing a song you have never done before by sight reading it and getting 84% is freaking amazing. I don't know of any other guitarists that could do it. Having the original artist listening in must have been a real treat. I would have been scared to death. Props for rising to an incredibly difficult challenge and doing it as well as you did.

What a cool time to be alive. Think about it, you can be playing a video game, shredding on guitar, even in a racing sim and it's quite possible that your idol or an industry expert stops by and WATCHES you.
I used to play iRacing and was in races with guys I would watch on Sunday. This would be like if I was in a race and Michael Andretti stopped by my twitch. Just insane.

It's just a quilted maple top! It's an arctic finish though. Red that bursts out to white!
