Awesome video, I was afraid to attempt this but I have 5 lights, that's $2500 at least! Wouldn't it be better to not add new penetrations to the can and instead use some sort of adhesive such as A+B epoxy putty to hold the socket in place before pouring the epoxy?
I used a glue gun to hold the socket at the bottom. My housing is in much better shape than this one though. I certainly wouldn't want to make any unnecessary holes in it.
@@jviramontes13 I tried and failed miserably to remove the old resin from mine. Hammer, chisel, drill, torch.. just a huge mess in the end. Just bought new ones on ebay.
Wow thats creative and dangerous. Hope this light was tied into a working GFI. Post 1985 Pool Jbox's stick out of the ground at least 8 inches. No digging required and you avoid a liability incase of an electrocution. Older jbox's were built in ground but only sat 3ft from the light on top of the pool deck.
How is your repair holding up?
