As an Orthodox Christian, I believe that without Jesus Christ, there is no salvation. Jesus is the ultimate path to God, and without His sacrifice, humanity would be lost. According to Christian teaching, Jesus Christ took on our sins and paid the penalty for them by dying on the cross. But He didn’t just die He rose from the dead, defeating death and offering us eternal life. This is our salvation, rooted in His resurrection, which is the foundation of our faith.
If God could simply forgive sins without sacrifice or atonement, then why was humanity cast out of Eden in the first place? Why were Adam and Eve sent away from the Garden of Eden? It suggests that sin has consequences that can’t simply be erased without justice or sacrifice. The Old Testament shows this repeatedly through the sacrificial system, but that system was only temporary and pointed toward the ultimate sacrifice: Jesus Christ.
Islam teaches that we can receive forgiveness by directly praying to God (Allah), but this misses the deeper truth that sin separates us from God in a way that only Jesus can bridge. If direct forgiveness were all that was needed, why would God allow the consequences of sin to fall on humanity at all? Christianity teaches that God’s justice and mercy meet at the cross Jesus took the punishment on our behalf. Only through Jesus, who is both fully God and fully man, can our sins be truly forgiven, allowing us to have a personal relationship with God.
Moreover, while Christianity spread through love, sacrifice, and teachings of peace, Islam historically expanded through conquests and often by force. Christianity teaches us to share the message of Christ with compassion and respect, not compulsion. Jesus instructed His followers to "love your enemies" and to spread His teachings through love, not by the sword.
In my view, Islam offers a path that misses the core truth of humanity’s need for redemption and God’s perfect justice and mercy in Jesus. Jesus Christ is not only a prophet but the Son of God and the Savior of the world. Through Him alone, we find salvation and the true meaning of God’s love.

As a practicing Muslim, I think you miss the teachings of Islam. It is not like you can do sins and ask for forgiveness and then do sins again. Firstly, there are two types of sins in Islam; one which is infringement to God's guidance and the religious obligations and other which is harming any soul. During judgement, the first type of sin is forgiven if you ask enough for forgiveness. The second type of sin can only be forgiven if the soul harmed forgives you. According to our belief, our good or bad deeds do not make any difference to God but merely to our souls. We can only enter Heaven through God's mercy. Now, certainly God forgives someone who repents but when you do too many sins, you slowly start to lose shame or conscience, and that is where the problem lies. See, there are people who do few sins previously and truly ask for forgiveness and Islam gives you free will to turn to God and repent no matter how bad you once were to yourself. Even if you harmed someone in past, you can do good deeds and the deciding soul may get convinced by it and forgives you. Asking for forgiveness from your heart is different than just asking for forgiveness shamelessly. When you do it with complete indulgence, you can feel a part of you being better and slowly healing and slowly yet certainly you turn to God. By your sense of speech, every man who did sins must perform sacrifices or suffer the consequences; so how does God be any special than regular justice system? If someone does too many sins and feel pressure about it, he may do more sins and hence he will feel tempted. So, where is peace in prayer?
Lastly, you say Christianity spread through love and harmony while Islam spread through conquests. First of all, Christianity in certain places, have spread because of conquests, just like Islam did. And even though I agree, Islam mostly spread through conquests, most people love being a practicing Muslim. they do not have complaints. Many Muslims today do complain, they have lost faith. Either because the guidance they receive is improper and impulsive unlike the true teachings of Islam. On the other hand, in spite of being in the religion of love and being kind to enemies, I see most of Christians today do sins and cannot even state a few verses from Bible. Where is the Love for God and atonement for sins? Will you say that they shall be burnt in hell or will you be willing to teach them about their religion instead of doing comparisons like radicals...? No matter what religion you belong to, as long as you're a part of the material world, there will be emotional calamities, there will be mistakes. But the true best are those who repent on it.
And, to my eyes, the truth is what you fail to see. To your eyes, the truth is what I fail to see. But my friend, had there been someone to declare his truth as the absolute truth today, he would be a prophet. But this age has no place for a prophet to come. People who believe in God and goodness are less, they stay calm and continue and the disbelievers are those who wage wars, mock others and turn their ears to the devil who bring temptation upon our souls.

    • @128bitman
      @128bitman 2 місяці тому +5

@ibnsiddiqui Thank you for sharing your perspective. I respect the emphasis in Islam on repentance and sincerity in asking for forgiveness, as well as the view that sins have different consequences based on whom they affect. In Orthodox Christianity, we also believe in repentance as a way to return to God. We view sin as damaging to the soul, separating us from God, and affecting our relationship with others, so true repentance and reconciliation are essential.
However, as an Orthodox Christian, I believe that only through Jesus Christ can we be fully reconciled with God. According to our faith, Jesus took on our sins and died for us, offering a path to salvation through His sacrifice on the cross. The justice system of God is different from human justice because He took the consequences upon Himself out of love. Christ’s sacrifice doesn’t mean we don’t repent or try to live righteously; rather, it means that we are forgiven not by our deeds alone, but by God’s grace, which transforms us when we genuinely repent and follow His teachings.
You mentioned that in Islam, one enters Heaven through God’s mercy. In Christianity, we similarly believe that we rely on God’s grace, not merely our own actions. In fact, we believe it is Christ’s resurrection that opened the way to eternal life for all who accept Him. This belief is central to our faith because it demonstrates that only through Christ, who overcame sin and death, can humanity enter into eternal communion with God.
As for Christianity’s spread, it is true that individuals and groups have, regrettably, acted in ways contrary to Christ’s teachings. Yet, the early church spread mainly through peaceful means, even amid persecution. Jesus taught us to spread His message through love, humility, and sacrifice, even loving our enemies. He called us to witness with compassion, not force. While not every Christian lives up to these teachings, we are continually called back to love, humility, and faithfulness.
In terms of comparing religious paths, I understand your concern. Christianity teaches us to share our faith, not in judgment or competition, but with respect and love for others. When we believe something is true, it’s natural to share that belief, just as you have shared yours with me. From my perspective, the fullness of truth is found in Jesus Christ, who claimed to be the way, the truth, and the life. Christians believe that God’s ultimate revelation to humanity is in Christ, and through Him, we find peace, forgiveness, and eternal life.
I appreciate your emphasis on mutual respect. I agree that we live in a time when faith is often challenged, and we need to encourage each other toward good, faithfulness, and seeking the truth. While we may see the truth differently, I believe that our discussions can help us deepen our understanding. May God the Father guide us both toward a greater knowledge of Him and the path of true peace in Jesus Name Amen. God bless you❤️☦️

@@128bitman May God bless you as well. We may have our differences; so, I pray to God that all the people worthy of mercy and love shall be granted heaven in the afterlife, irrespective of their differences in beliefs. Good and bad sees no religion. In every religion, there are true believers along with blinded radicals. I completely agree that Jesus Christ(peace be upon him) had come to reveal the truth and did what he was ought to do magnificently. People like you who take the religion by heart is indeed graceful. What concerns me is the increasing number of people who have weak faith in their religion and in the act of showing that they are defending their faith, they become egoistic and aggressive and hurt souls of themselves not only others; not to mention they harm the reputation of their religions as well(most exclusively many Muslims who do debates without respecting others' perspectives)
      Peace.

Some of these early Christianities would later become Islam and Christianity we know today so in my opinion none of them are correct and they all have their own world view which are symbolic. Also the new testament canon we have today is the work of a later Christianity which had its own theological view point.

@Basedmuslimah According to Saudi cleric Mohammed al-Arife there are 4 kinds of people in
    the world:
    1) Arab - people from UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia (original
    Arabs)
    2) Abeed (enslaved/ surrendered (colloquial)) - people who became Muslim &
Arab or whose language is now Arabic but who had a different culture &
language earlier ie. Egypt, Iraq, Morocco, Syria, Sudan, Palestine, Yemen
    etc
    (Abeed al- arab al-islam)
    3) Ajam (dumb/ those who speak another language (colloquial) - People who
were conquered by the Arabs in the name of Islam but retained thier
original language & culture ie Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, India muslims
    ,Malays , Kazakhs etc
    4) Kafirun - non Muslims
When asked as to what role the Muslims of the sub-continent and the
'Stans' (as they are numerous) can play, he smiled and said "when we don't
accept the second as equal to us, why would we trust the third?"
    Wherever Islam goes blood flows

Did you seriously say that Muhammad was sent by god just because he said he was sent by god? I could claim that I am god (although it might be blasphemous), and with that logic you would say I am god? How do you know he couldn't have been a liar? Just because he was a strong character and was charismatic doesn't mean he wasn't a liar, because the best liars are the ones that tell some truth and some lie, making them harder to distinguish (not indefensible since His writers were the ones that wrote "he was trustable by even his enemies," how do we know that's true).
By the way, there is no record of Abraham building the Kaaba besides the Quran itself, so it would take more evidence for me to believe that.
You might have an argument about the refusing wordly possessions, but so did Jesus, and Buddha, and most other religious figures.

@@Basedmuslimah No, I think you should read my comment again, because one of your main arguments in the beginning was that Muhammad couldn't have lied because he was deemed by his enemies as trustworthy. My point was that he still could have been a liar since the best liars often mix up truths and lies, which makes them very manipulative. This does not mean that Muhammad WAS a liar, just that your claim doesn't support the fact that he wasn't a liar.

@vaedkamat484 he was known by the people before his prophet Hood as " the trustworthy" as he was a trustworthy business man, and Khadija R.A. was impressed by his honesty and reputation of trust among the people and so married him.
Also Abu Sufyan R.A. before his conversion to Islam, he was an enemy of Islam and he was confronted by Herclius, ruler of Rome, and was asked questions and the kind said if he said a lie he would be executed.
Abu sufyan was asked many questions including did the prophet break any promise or tell lies before his prophet Hood he said no. So he was know as trustful among his enemies.
Even Heraclius (devote christian) said all of these signs indicate he is indeed a prophet. (Sahih Bukhari 7)

Sahih Bukhari Volume 6, Book 60, Hadith Number 402: 'Allah’s Apostle said, “In Paradise there is a pavilion made of a single hollow pearl sixty miles wide, in each corner of which there are wives who will not see those in the other corners; and the believers will visit and enjoy them. (...).' He wasn't a liar? Think again. Mohammed was a pervert, a sinner and an idolater who just like all of us needs redemption for his sins yet he rejected Jesus who died for him. He is not in heaven. The true heaven is the one revealed in the bible where we are all like unto angels with no wives or husbands or partners. Also one of allahs names is the 'greatest deceiver'. @@Basedmuslimah Hello there! Two questions for you.
You mentioned you take from Kutub Al-Sittah (the six main Sunni books), of which the two main ones are Bukhari and Muslim. These two were commissioned by governments of their time and often cite Abu Hurayrah, who was known to be very untrustworthy.
      Reference:
When ‘Umar heard about it, he called him in and asked him to repeat that hadīth. Having heard him repeating it, ‘Umar struck him and said to him, “How so when Allāh Himself says it was created in six days, while you yourself now say it was done in seven?!” Abu Hurayra said, “Maybe I heard it from Ka’b al-Ahbar...” ‘Umar said, “Since you cannot distinguish between the Prophet's ahādīth and what Ka’b al-Ahbar says, you must not narrate anything at all.”
Citation Used: (Refer to the book titled Abu Hurayra by the Egyptian author Mahmoud Abu Rayyah.)
      2) What is your response to Sahih Muslim 1821a, 1821e, 1821f, 1821d?
It has been narrated on the authority of Jabir b. Samura who said:
I joined the company of the Prophet (ﷺ) with my father and I heard him say: This Caliphate will not end until there have been twelve Caliphs among them. The narrator said: Then he (the Holy Prophet) said something that I could not follow. I said to my father: What did he say? He said: He has said: All of them will be from the Quraish.
Caliphate refers to succession after Muhammad, meaning the individuals must be in successive order. Shias don't define caliphate as simply political or military but also religious
Only 2 of their 12 Imams had political power.
