Today is a longer video than usual but it's such a cool planet! Based on some viewer feedback I made a couple of formatting changes and the next few videos will have this format to see if it makes a significant difference in viewing experience.
It seems like the developers put a lot more into Castrovel than they did some of the other planets. It's a very rich and dense society. Also, I died at "elves, the industrious buggers."
@@benjaminlampp6605 i haven't played nearly as much dnd as i would like. I do watch lore videos though on it which I like. I haven't played pathfinder at all yet but i really really want to.
@@TheMapleTable I usually homebrew my own lore based on a hodgepodge of many different fantasy and real historical tropes, to be honest. Starfinder is the first time I've looked at the lore and said "Yep, I'm going with that. I love it." Your channel has been a wild ride of fun for me so far.
@@benjaminlampp6605 i usually like to grab what's there and alter it or if its to vague come up with my own reasons :p there is no wromg way to have fun
I unashamedly put a portal to golarion there. Except, while it is indeed the last portal, it is also not current golarion but a one way trip back to the very moment Treerazer alerted the elves all the way far before gap.
Great video, I really like the production you put in these, it helps a lot to have a source of knoledge to the Starfinder lore. I feel like there aren't almost any youtubers that talk about Starfinder, nor it's lore or it's system, and it baffles me since is such a good game. This video in particular comes really handy for me because I'm about to start GMing the second book of the dead suns AP, and it takes place in Castrovel, so now I have extra Information in case I need it. Thanks for making these videos, they've helped me a lot.
Great work on gathering all the lore as you did drawing lines from pathfinder to the planet as it is now. That was very informative and enjoyable to listen to. 👌
In the castrovel entry on the pact worlds it did say they have wings. I didn't compare it to a pathfinder entry though. I also don't think there is a creature entry in the alien archives for it.
Great video! Where did you find all of this information? Being an extremely new GM I'm having trouble finding info and adventure hooks/ideas, and this sparked me like crazy! 👍
I'm glad I could help! I found most of this in the Pact Worlds source book which is a must for a GM if you ask me. Near Space is similar but it focuses on the Veskarium home system. I love them both. I also pulled info from Pathfinder because there is a TON of history there.
I would have to stew on that one but my initial thoughts are the betrayal is largely perceived in their own minds and while they are looking for a bad actor in the pact worlds, there isnt one. I would like to say that during the gap they incurred the wrath of a god who chose to disrupt their way of life... Makes for an interesting story imo but i could be missing some vital part of information.

I just want to say that the idea of a green dragon having high-paid lawyers to defend him against legal action is hilarious.
I mean, if a dragon is going to horde its wealth... Might as well use some of it for a solid legal team
@@TheMapleTableit’s even more surprising when you realize that the dragon could just make their legal trouble…disappear

To be fair though, castrovel has tons of history to work with from pathfinder
@@TheMapleTable I'm not as well versed on Pathfinder history (I'm a DnD Dude), so that changes my perspective!

I freaking LOVE Castrovel as a source of campaign ideas! Seriously considering a pre-gap Pathfinder 2 campaign set on Castrovel.
Id play that! I hope when I have a chance to devote time to pathfinder that I can play a bit on castrovel
Wow, this is a really cool planet. It is full of fantasy Venus tropes, it really give off that vibes.
Its really neat. It eas hard to just pick out a few things that were interesting... Which is why its near 20 minutes long lol
It was fun to bug you while you were editing hehe
Bug away! Sometimes i do need some conversation while editing :p
@@TheMapleTable hehe
Castrovel sounds quite amazing.
It has some really great history and a bunch of cool places
Thanks for the shoutout at the end!
No worries dude! Thanks for the support... And watching to the end :D

interesting choice, I like it.
@@TheMapleTable Starfinders finding out that golarion's people are unexpectedly powerful is and was hilarious.
Did you mention Qabarat? It's an interesting place. I believe the Dead Suns AP goes into some of the Lore surrounding the University there.
I didn't sadly. I talk a bit about the university though.
@@TheMapleTable One of the pictures you showed, has the Qabarat University therein. It has ornate Princeton University-esq buildings.
Maybe a teaser for a future video?
Super great video! Loving the lore of Starfinder so far.
It's really great! My one problem is how scattered its becoming and to try and piece it together lol
That was a really cool video - nice one :) Enjoyed some of the new transitions you are using as well :)
Thanks, i appreciate it. Im really enjoying the new transitions as well but I'm trying to not overdo it
Elves have Stargates
Yea pretty much

Thanks! I was surprised at how much there was for castrovel. Its really neat to see where Pathfinder leaves off and Starfinder picks up.
Random thought but... theoretically would it be possible to travel through the Green Gate, into the First World, then eventually to Golarion?
Anything is possible. Gotta get through that green dragon though
I didn't think shotalashu had wings?

Screw the elven city! I'll make my OWN city. With HOOKERS and BLACKJACK....

that green dragon is a total jerk nothing a railgun cant handle
Bring a couple of them
nice
Thanks for watching.
You got any speculations about what the other races did to betray the Sovyrians?
