The one and only... The Legend!!! 😎 Bo Diddely wrote this in 1955! Let THAT sink in! Just in case anyone is interested: I just saw a trailer for a new series called "Berlin" (Dec 2023) This is the song playing in the background, sung by a German group called "Black Strobe"....a very different sounding version, which I actually like! They have an amazing guitar riff going on throughout the song, that reminded me of Chris Isaak's "Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing". Us Brits, have to thanks Jools Holland, for continuing to bring legends like Bo Diddley, up and coming artists, and everyone in between, to a British stage. I've been watching "Later....with Jools Holland" for years, and of course, I never miss his New Year's Eve "Hootenanny"! Sadly, so many of these great artists have passed on now, but at least we've got these clips to look back on.
LYRICS: Now when I was a little boy, At the age of five, I had somethin' in my pocket, Keep a lot of folks alive. Now I'm a man, Made twenty-one, You know baby, We can have a lot of fun. I'm a man, I spell M-A-N... man. All you pretty women, Stand in line, I can make love to you baby, In an hour's time. I'm a man, I spell M-A-N... man. I goin' back down, To Kansas to Bring back the second cousin, Little John the conqueroo. I'm a man, I spell M-A-N... man. The line I shoot, Will never miss, The way I make love to 'em, They can't resist. I'm a man, I spell M-A-N... man.
