- I just got my big box of League of Dungeoneers and it's opening time!

Ha! I'm about two chapters in and already looking forward to it. Encumbrance? Yes. Sanity? YES! Rations and travel encounters??? YESSSSS!
I just got my Knave pledge in the mail a couple days ago. I know this is a game made with a lot of love, and I've seen all the praise, so I'm very committed to playing a campaign of it, but boy is it rough going getting started. I think I had a much easier time getting up and running with Warhammer Quest when I was 10, than I am with League of Dungeoneers at 40.

I am still waiting for mine to get in, I also did the kick starter for the 2nd printing, and expansion. I cant wait to get it.

The expansion needs to be added to the main box from the get go if you have it . The expansion rule book explains all 👍

I believe the origin of the game is based on advanced hero quest rule set that is strongly home brewed to add a lot more rules to make it more like a RPG.
Also FYI Quest book one is in the Rulebook. He probably should have separated it out but didn't.

Jealous!!!! I live near Augusta, GA, only about 2.5 hours from you, and I have to wait until tomorrow for my copy. Quest Book 1 is in the hardback rulebook. There are several good playthrough videos on UA-cam, none as yet for the 2nd edition (which is what we have/are about to have). Save Your Game has 20+ playthroughs of his campaign. In fact, i might fire those up now. I'm so excited!!! I would LOVE to see you play through this one on the channel. ENJOY!!!
have it myself, they have the quest book inside the main book (just in case anyone is wondering), they could have split the book into 3, with character generation, rules and campaign in each their own books

looks really cool. for the mat, put those heavy boxes on it for a few days and that should work. You can also try hanging it, but it looks a little small so it wouldn't have the wait.

Mine is supposed to arrive next week. One of the big selling points for me was that the map, tiles, etc. I can/will use for my 5 leagues game.

Yes! You got LoD! First ed. backer here. What a fantastic game! It is not as difficult when you get the basic flow going. I'm playing with my wife, two full characters each. The rulebook is huge, but you only use a portion of it at a time, and examples, quests and charts take up like 3/4 of the book! Keep at it, looking forward to the character creation and playthrough!
