Serious intonation issues always with Raman Negi. This one definitely is really hard to sing, takes a toll on one needless to say, but this isn't the only one where he messes the live show. It's almost always in every show that he is off. N besides they wrote it. If they can't sing what they wrote themselves, then definitely his skills are questionable. Amazing songwriter but not a really great live vocalist. Tonal quality is good but pitching... nah! Can't watch this song live, will hate it as much as i loved it when i heard the official studio version. But all the rest were really on point. Not trying to shame or defame them but just that it was on my mind for a really long time while i was hoping that Raman will grow out of it and up his game through so many live shows, but all in vain. I still hope that his skills reaches that point where he can at least stay in pitch. And i have been waiting for that since long cos it really gets unbearable for a trained ear which is sad cos i love their songs. Although I understand that playing live is no joke (being a live gigging musician myself) and that too when the song is heavily processed and complex one (something like this song) but that doesn't mean that it's impossible. P.S. - For all the bhakts who would be trying to kill me through their screen, M not a hater or something, just an honest musician who knows when the note's right or isn't right. Wouldn't take Bach's ear to know in this case. The ones who get even basic music will agree on that. Can't guarantee about the rest who are all clueless.
Well good news for you my man, recently the local train played in IIIT Hyderabad and honestly, they fucking crushed it. And my personal favourite was Dilnawaz. I get what you're saying and this pitching is off this live one I've seen. But after their performance in my college nust last month, I think this is in the past. Raman negi has thus grown as an artist and I hope you see his amazing performance soon. Cheers
What you wrote is exactly what I used to think till I heard them live. But when you watch them live, you’ll get to know Raman’s potential. He is flawless and their performance is a blessing.
Well you're right, but who cares, most people are there to enjoy the music, and not to judge their abilities, and the band never fails to make the shows enjoyable.
