    PRIDE AND JOY TAB HERE: www.guitarmusi...
    In this free video guitar lesson, you learn how to play the opening to Stevie Ray Vaughan's blues song, "Pride and Joy." You can follow along with a free tab PDF available from the instructor's website. You see a breakdown of the shuffle rhythm strumming pattern in the notation and tablature. Guitarist Desi Serna shows you step by step how to get the signature SRV sound. Also tabbed is the lead line during the turn around section, which is a great example of using the minor pentatonic blues scale with some chromatic passing tones.

    I am sorry but this is an oversimplification of the riff, you are missing many things (A and E chords as a bridge for the C/C# notes for example or the G-G# notes)

    Why learn the easy way when it is wrong and then have to go back and correct it? Why not take the time to break it down and learn it the right way first? For example, there is a not missing in the base line. You need the 3rd then the 4th fret on the way up. You cannot get the rhythm correct witrhout that note on the 4th fret. .

    • @desisernaguitar
      @desisernaguitar  6 років тому +10

      The purpose of this video is to teach the fundamental technique in a step-by-step manner because so many players struggle with it. As an instructor, it’s my job to break things down and help guitarists gradually add to their skills in a manner that enables them to make progress and play things they wouldn't otherwise be able to play. It’s too much for most guitarists to play the main “Pride and Joy” technique and all the added bass notes and fills on top of it right out of the gate. Learning is a process.
