Agree. Lots of commentators here don’t know the rules. Leeward boat is allowed to alter course as much as they like. It’s only port / stbd where stbd boat needs to hold their course.

In race 4 finally a worthy tactical management (start and marking) for LR. However, I still see a poor ability to read the wind (we end up too often where there is none) and I was worried about the panic on the last leg.

INEOS's wide mark rounding at the bottom of leg 4 potentially cost them the race. LR led by ~100m going into that mark, but had extended to ~200m immediately after both had rounded and headed back upwind. In these boats, even the smallest mistakes or inefficiencies are hugely punishing as your opponent powers away at 45kts.
Really?why do you compere regata to F1 which objectively your statement is not true ,F1overall is way more exciting ,they are two different sports lets leave it like that and enjoy it without compering them.
I don't think he was complaining about the rules, he was complaining they were not interpreting them in their favour for the penalties. Quite a few marginal calls, well, at least two which you could argue should have gone their way.

Commentators just keep being so much against LR They even managed to say the start was even while it was a crushing LR win. The disappointment whenever LR is kicking it is real
@@ketel971 they just struggle so much to give LR credits (I mean REAL credits, not just worthless token appreciations) and struggle so much to hide the disappointment whenever LR outperforms INEOS. While they usually get so excited (they can barely hide it) whenever INEOS is in an advantage position.
Plus, I think the general opinion is underestimating that until now the only race that INEOS won on the water (match 2) derived from a incredible bad luck for LR as LR won the start but after the first tack with the boats with left wind (LR leeward ahead INEOS windward technically in the dirt) the wind rotated left and allowed INEOS (which was behind but windward downwind on the left) to sail higher, close the angle, and roll LR on the inside. Without that super lucky lefty rotation on the left tack (in the best possible moment for INEOS, and the worst possible moment for LR), LR would have remained ahead and shut the door on the following tack on the right boundary (if INEOS would not tack away earlier as it was in the dirty air of LR). LR was in the best position to win that second match race as well without that pretty unexpected and lucky lefty. So a lot of enthusiasm for INEOS, but LR could have possibly been 3-0 by now “on the sea”. Yet Commentators (while waiting for the start) couldn’t stop saying how strong INEOS looked and that LR should be afraid.

In fact it tacked shortly after to get away from that losing position and was 60/70 m behind after a handful of seconds from the start. If its not crushing this start, I don’t know what it is. Will there be any races tomorrow? It was a rest day in the original schedule but with no results yesterday the series is two races behind that schedule.
Exciting. Poor assessment by GB in starting box so LR got the jump. GB should not cry wolf. Better weather decisions leading to better sail choice by LR with smaller faster jib. Better weather/pressure info again for LR on where those 22 knot patches were (or just luck? I doubt it) so that gave them the big leads. Poor tactics from GB in too early gybe at first mark, if they had followed LR down to the start for the start of leg 3 they could have been starting leg 3 with 50 - 80 - 100 metre to catch up. The positives for GB are faster boat than LR uphill and same speed downhill. So, bad start, a bit of panic by GB leading to slightly poor decisions mid race. LR raced better until the latter half when they too fell into a bit of a mess. Overall, a wasted chance by GB, but LR didn't let them get a look in. This looks like the final of the 36th AC. Better sailing by LR with a slightly slower boat than the opposition. However, GB not as much faster than LR as NZ were in 36AC. Whether GB can alter their boat to make it a click faster at this stage should they win this LV cup is debatable because they have run out of money and time. LR have better and deeper resources so they can improve again. Anyway, that's my view.
I dunno about crying wolf, I think they genuinely thought they had enough overlap to draw the penalty, and Jimmi and Cecco kept it tight enough to sell that they were getting away with something. The racing has really changed from the prelims.
Ineos clearly had an overlap at the prestart when superimposing the quadralateral perimeter line from the windward foil line back to the stern quadralateral apex point behind Prada, just before they were past the 180° gybe point. With the advantage of the aerial photos here its clear there was an overlap and so a penalty should have been the correct ruling.so Ineos was hard done by. An incorrect umpire call that could well have cost the race.

LR sailed great but the umpire is terrible. Time and time again the right of way boat takes evasive action when it is looking like a clear collission and no penalty. That prestart gybe was blatant. India windward boat, Italians gybing so giving boat keeps clear. It can’t be that if they don’t go inside the virtual box its no penalty, that’s asking for a high speed collision if boats have to push closer to get penalty without taking evasive action then they are asking for a high speed crash, bloody dangerous.
They were the ones blasting around the place in 23 kts looking smooth as silk and fast as Jim McLaren while the poms and eyeties were huddling together getting gear broken 😊

Lot of discussion here abaut pre-start jibe of LR. I don't know rules in detail but what i see is LR slowly beginning the jibe manouver. Ineos, onthe other side would not to have problems in both going straight or jobiing as well. Insted they are explicitely manouvering to create a risky situation and then they are protesting. So, for my, the unpairs decision is perfectly reasonable.

Bella regata, ma 30 anni (20 di Luna Rossa) di esperienza in Coppa e ancora si verificano (troppe) rotture su LR. E non parliamo dell'errore inspiegabile nell'ultima virata che poteva farle perdere una regata passata in controllo. Certe cose, da parte di un equipaggio con così tanta preparazione e budget, sono inspiegabili.
