Love the updates on the house. HEY, if the roof doesn't leak, then YOU ARE a qualified roofer!!! Same goes with the whole build, YOU and Stacy started where everyone else does, You don't know how to do something until you learn how to do it. I lived in the house I built for 3 years without a well, I dammed up a little 3 foot wide creek to get water for all my mortar and water needs (build a small stone house). I would utilize the creek now, if you can, and make water collection systems for all the roofs (free water). Have an awesomeness day Chris, and Stacy. 🙂

Great update on your homestead. Where you're at the top of a hill drilling a well is probably going to be overly expensive, depending on how far down the water table is. Friend I know who is also living off grid always made sure to have an estimated month's worth of water before he got his well drilled, and after made sure his storage tank was at least that capacity. It's a tough job but it looks like you're coming right along and the area looks beautiful. I hope one day that my situation is such that I can also escape the city like you have. Cheers

Hey Bud. Wood / log burner fan. Gotta have one. I’m sure you’re familiar with them. May have slipped your mind so I thought I’d remind you. Lots on Amazon. That’ll up the heat circulation and efficiency of your burner. It still amazes me how it’s such a simple contraption but a a huge multiplier. For those who aren’t aware. It’s just a simple small metal fan mounted on a heatsink with bearings. No power necessary. Just sits on top of the burner and the heat spins the prop and it pushes the warm air into circulation. Highly recommended. Not trying to teach anyone to suck eggs. Just trying to help.

My sister has a house of 85 square meters (brick walls), before they were connected to a common gas pipe, they also heated the house with a gas cylinder (with a capacity of 50 liters, a filling volume of 42 liters is 9.24 gallons) they had enough for exactly 24 hours, taking into account cooking several times.

    Tempered glass is no joke!
I seen i guy loose the meat off his arms because he didn't wanna wear his Kevlar sleevs..too hot...
10ft tall by 5ft wide in a stairwell..he was on the bottom..the top corner just bumped the cement at it exploded...raining down on his bear arms.
One of nastiest things i seen on a job site...other then a man having his legs literally crushed off between two cement counter weight for a tower crane.
Im happy to be in a factory now!

I think its nuts that you can't drill a well, I think that will get old quick. However, we're still using a sawdust toilet and it's been 7 years or more in our place. Works great, so I guess if you're willing to put up with something it's worth it.

Nice to hear from you and the progress!
3:55 I would get a water pump that is more than 12 Volts.
Guessing you are running 120v, i am used to 240.
It will do the work in 1/10 of the time but use the same amount or less energy.
The flow will be alot greater, so make sure to hold on to the hose!
4:53 I have never used gas for anything except my grill, so do not have anything to say about that!
6:40, moisture might be tripping them? The humidity.
They are built to trip faster than normal power outlets, to protect the batteries.
You are not the only one that speaks good about EcoFlow!
I think you should reach out to EcoFlow and ask for a Sponsor.
Get a technician to look at your setup, talk about it some more and get it perfect!
I am looking to get a similar setup myself so that is why i am suggesting it.
12:36 I DID THE SAME TO MY SHOWER DOOR! DAMMIT, installing them is a tricky thing...
The work you have done is amazing! You really got a Home there!
    Looking forward to more videos!
    Love

Yep shower doors are very strong but the edges if even a tiny knock whole thing goes.
Best idea is to use low tak thick as possible masking tape on the edges. It's not a fail safe, but it saves having to be a ninja

Regarding water: you don't have a well (borehole) for what reason? Is the well prohibited by law or is the water too deep underground? I am from the south of the country (Krasnodar Territory), and we have water wells drilled 20-30 meters deep - this is industrial water, and over 50 meters deep is clean drinking water (it all depends on the terrain and pollution). In some places we have problems with water, it is too deep, and in some places it is too close to the surface (a large amount of groundwater)

Awesome looking house with a view. Hopefully 1 day echoflow will sponsor ya and you can get the upgrades.
Sucks about shower door but you lived learned and moved on. I bet you can get a bottle of porcelain touch up paint and it will 90% hide that ding on the sink.
If you have access to water that is slightly higher then you are watch Lumina Acres and see what he did for secondary water. You might make it so you only have to get water half as much.
    Keep on keeping on.

Great to see how're doing. How many kWh is your battery system? How many solar panels have you got in total? Do they generate enough electricity during winter time? I've got solar panels, during the summer do provide at least 3 or 4 times more than I use but during the winter they generate less electricity than I use.

  • @user-vs5lr1op6h

And one more comment from me. I'm sorry, I'm just sharing my life experience, and I want people not to make my mistakes: shower stall doors should be made of matte plastic (glass is not safe, especially if there are children and the elderly), as well as interior doors, should not have glass (sooner or later they will break and this it will be traumatic). (I write from different accounts to promote the video😆I help as much as I can😁 )..
