    Nice curbs on what appears to be packed clay without any rebar or expansion joints. Will it last a whole year?

      Real curbs are supposed to extend down below the frost line to hold the roadbed in place.

    Zebra crossings in Indonesia are a joke! In '74 I went to cross a 2 lane road in Jakarta on one and vehicles just blasted their horn and kept going.

      It's concerning when zebra crossings are not respected by drivers. Ensuring proper road safety and enforcement is crucial for pedestrian well-being.

    I don't think our roads have ever been sealed. in this past week our asphalt roads grown many craters. though id think that youd want some precipitate to flow through the road into the ground, especially where there isn't much grass.

    There's a company that was resurfacing the streets in Redondo Beach Ca. in the late 90's and they were having one hell of a time with the Manhole covers that got covered up by other companies doing the streets years before, the machine that was tearing up the old asphalt kept finding the covers and breaking the teeth off and delay the process until they welded the teeth back on and They would start back up and find another one and (I lived on the 1700 block of Harriman Ln at the time) my neighbor and I were watching them fixing their machine and I said to my neighbor I not know why they don't have someone with a metal detector go in front of the their machine and detect the covers and one of the workers must have heard what i said because the next day there was a guy out there with a Metal Detector!!! and too that Company you are welcome for that Bright Idea💡, I myself just wanted the streets to be completed and not listen to the sound of equipment breaking every 50 - 100 feet plus.

    I think the narrator is a computer that doesn’t know the difference in asphalt and cement or a skid steer and a tractor.

    • @LordGizmo
      @LordGizmo  2 роки тому

      Most confusions like that come from a separation between the videos, the script writer, and the narrator. We're sorry about any errors that occur, it just can be hard to catch some errors before they get into the final video.

    How come as machinery has get "better" the roads have got worse?
    There are 100 year old roads never serviced that are perfect

    • @andrewblake7814
      @andrewblake7814 2 роки тому

      It's not the plant nor equipment which is at fault. The limited availability and lack of experience and knowledge is why we suffer in the 21st Century.
      We're not mentally conditioned to build things to last the test of time, were in an era in which we are educated that we live in a disposable society.

    • @LordGizmo
      @LordGizmo  2 роки тому

      The reason is simple: biases! Selection bias makes it so the roads that were constructed the best from 100 years ago were the ones that ended up surviving, when a vast majority didn't. Also, the fact that most of those roads are used very differently, and repairs are constant adds onto this.
