Improve the quality of the ball. Don't change it. Preserve the variety..
The ICC need to standardise the way the balls are made. Kookaburra use fake outside seams (just machine sewn on each side) which cause the ball to go flat. Then then spheres are put together with the middle seam the only thing holding them together so they are cheap to make (like all Kookaburra products)
The Duke ball has both outer seams hand sewn through the ball. This means it lasts longer
Who's here after watching day 1 of India Vs England in Chennai? Have to say the SG ball is dreadful
Yup, 2 yrs later and the quality of SG ball is still questionable. Not good.
Saw a 11 year old video complaining about SG, now this 2 year old video complaining about SG. SG’s culture as a company is pretty clear.
Kookaburra isn’t any better. I have given up buying any of their products as they are all made cheaply! The balls go flat because the outer seams are machine stitched before pressing them together. Any products that have Velcro have the smallest strips of velcro cus they cheap Aussies!!
He is not talking about bad about SG ball in general but the quality of it degraded in recent years and no one is doing anything about it.
The ICC needs to standardise production of balls. The outer seams must be sewn through the ball as using machine sewn outer seams then joining them together with only the center seam holding the ball together makes them go flat!
That is exactly the point. Kudos to Agarkar and Walsh
Aahh, the game of cricket, where men talk about balls using adjectives like hard, upright, soft etc. etc.
Use SG and Duke in ODI cricket and give the bowlers a chance
Swing bowling isn’t a part of the short format game anymore... There has to be a way to dye / bleach the leather before cutting. Spraying the white lacquer cuts down the amount of swing available
SG costs 1200 I think whereas a Kookaburra/duke costs 12k
Is it possible that the reason an SG is 8 to 10 times cheaper than the other test balls is that it uses cheaper materials? I suppose the only real way to see is to play tests in India using all 3 ball manufacturers.
@@michaelscott7166 cheap materials - maybe cheap labour surely... India is still a developing country and can't afford Duke's at every level, especially below Ranji (county) level.
@@Dr.Phoenix Definitely Labour is more expensive, London is one of the most expensive cities to live in the world and people with the skills to hand make test match quality cricket balls will be hard to find. I certainly wouldn't belittle those in India who manufacture the SG balls I bet their craftsmanship is just as good even if they're paid quite a bit less.
You won't see the Test Match Dukes ball being used much below County Level here either. I think they retail at about £80-£100. (8000-10000 rupees) Use 2 of those every game over a season and by anyone's standards it's a lot of money.
@@michaelscott7166 the Dukes are not only expensive because of labour the material used are also different and the seam is held together by all the stitches. Dukes is different but I believe SG should at least should be at par with Kookaburra as they used to be years ago. India should never have to stop playing with SG and we would want to maintain the variation plus our players are more accoustmed to SG.
@@michaelscott7166 Dukes are manufactured in London but the Kookaburra is manufactured in India.
Either the quality of SG brand balls should be improved or it should be replaced by other famous cricket balls of international brands like Dukes from England or Kookabura from Australia. More than balls the conditions of the Indian cricket stadium pitches has to improve in order to prevent fallacious results of the matches. The use of ball brands shall not be the reason for captain Virat Kohli to blow up the test series vs the touring England Cricket Team.
How were the greats like Walsh, Ambrose, Holding, Kapil, Imran and many more succeed in all conditions using the different brand balls?
The point is to have consistency. There should be rules about how balls are made NO fake outer stitching, must be hand sewn through the two spheres. Fake outer stitching makes balls go flat!!
Me who is playing cricket with tennis ball..

Dukes is also owned by an Indian...you can use that one too😂

@@nikhilbhandare3796 that's not going to have any benefit for u or our fellow Indians
Quality of test cricket is also going down.Test matches finishing in 2-3 days tell the story
The players like Zaheer Khan, Kapil Dev, Srinath have used SG Balls in India but they never complained. Even, their players bowls with SG balls and they have been successful. If the quality of the balls are not good then SG balls must change the management
Video sponsored by SG 😛
Dukes ball cannot be used in india. Seam gets absolutely ripped apart due to abrasion. This has been tested before. It is not made for indian grounds. Sg survives here because a good quality sg ball is designed to do so. All that stuff put inside it and lack of hollowness within unlike dukes. So get the quality right.
SG ball- milavat ka zamana hain
Either the quality of SG balls has gone down or the pitches have been too abrasive for just any kind of cricket ball.
Duke's won't last long in Indian pitches for sure. Kookaburra might stand a chance.
Kookaburra go flat on green seamers in NZ (and any pitches) cus they are made cheaply with fake stitching on the outer seam. Unlike Dukes that have both rings of outer stitching going through the ball. This is why they last longer!
Duke balls cannot be used in hot and humid conditions if you play in chennai Duke ball shape will go off in 10 overs so sg is best in subcontinent and let us be honest dukes cannot be used when conditions are hot
@@helenbritton3977 we do. Dukes has been tried in india before. The surface came apart in 25 overs in a ranji game.
When it comes to technical stuffs and game planning Virat is not the best at it unlike his batting.
Virat talking about Dukes.Lol your players are not able to handle swing of dukes in english conditions.
@@sridevipatil8565 Then they should introduce it in home conditions occasionally.
@@valt5751 every batting line-up struggles in England even their own struggles
@@dhruvilsutaria6885 yea exactly...once they got the hang of it, even our bowlers were able to restrict them and most of the matches last time india played in england were close finishes.
Duke ball is best for test matches ❤
india should use dukes ball as it is the best
Sg cricket ball is not quite good my experience with the sg ball it seem cuts in just five overs because the poor quality of the ball Duke and Kookaburra are quite good from the sg ball.
Yes savi jageh Duke ball hona chahiye
Kohli then buys the duke ball company
If T20 breed of players like Prithvi Shaw and Rishab Pant start hammering the ball right from the word go then the ball's quality is surely gonna (for lack of a better term) take a beating. Complain of the style of their play before talking about SG. Check the video of how the SG ball is made. The manufacturer goes the extra mile to ensure the stiches are pronounced for long play.
How can you say ,complain about the style the players play
You can't force a batsman to hit the ball less harder in any format
Are you out of your mind
SG is perfect in India
Fuck lol, Sg isnt even in same league as Dukes
