Aside from the mess up with the transfers the PvP server is the greatest thing they have ever done. Said it should have been an option from the start. Giving people the option to flag in a PvP focused game is stupid. Chest runs and open world has been spiced up big time it’s fantastic. I wish they had a permanent PvP server
Pushing a patch to live and not having a single person up to monitor how things were going for hours on end is gross negligence. Then no rollback, but instead a messy and half assed cleanup. I think this may be catastrophic for both the pvp servers and the game in general. I hate to see it. When they reenabled the TP on Sclavia I immediately went and checked the market, sure enough there was a monstrous turkey leg up for sale so they clearly didn't catch all the gear and gold that got flown in. Powerful honing stones were suspiciously cheap, etc. They fucked this up.
The PvP server is freakin great! Best time I had in this game ever. So many cool situations so far that never would've happened on the PvE servers. Some issues and hugs aside, I think its great. Now they need to keep the content coming
Don't really agree at all. There is zero point in me playing on legacy or fresh at the moment. The PvP server has been great fun for those who like constant PvP. Obviously they made a massive mistake with the release, but I couldn't care less about the economy on a PvP server.

They should create PVP seasonal servers where you start at level 65 with a 3-chests, when you open it it includes light/medium/heavy blue gear GS 600. all crafting and farming on level 100 or 200. All Main Quests are done Go and have fun grinding PVP gear and kill players. that would be fun for a seasonal server and at the end it goes away.
The devs are unfortunately clueless when it comes to setting up open world PvP. Make so many mistakes and never adjust/fix. For instance races could be so much better with just a few subtle but very important changes. Oh well, I guess at least we FINALLY get another OPR.

As a pvp’er the pvp servers is the most fun ive had in NW since lanuch. If i was to change something, i would change the zones to lvl brackets, so that high lvl players gets scaled down in lvl. This would make a more even playing field, so that a group of 65s doesnt go to the starter area to farm lvl 15 guys. Could also do it like Warhammer online, where if high lvls attack lowbies, they get turned into chickens with 1 hp.
Me and my group would have been pissed for a roll back we started the day that the bug was going on ane we hadnt known anything was going on, seeing people in chat talking about being from other servers and not understanding what was going on.
The problem is in the PVP seasonal server. The fresh server were fine. Actually I'm strongly convince (and I bet that most of player in my region AP Southeast), are pro to merging legacy and fresh servers. Because both territorial wars and economy was quite stagnating. The influx of new players and material made the fresh server more dynamic. Faster queue, Influence race were more active and fun (more open pvp). I didn't see big changing in the economy, actually some top tier items like matrix dropped by a 10/20% (like 1000gold more or less), which is actually not bad for most of the players. FYI for all the people calling perma ban. Did you even check the population on server pre and after Ban? This game doesn't have a big player base, and you want to remove like 30/40% of players? which are already spread in low populated servers?
Pvp server did it wrong. Feels more life a crafting/farming server. Farm to make gear. Die. Farm to make gear. Get attacked while farming, lose items. Farm to make gear
I'm sure it's coming now that they've finished milking console players. At least the base game will go free to play. They'll still charge for expansions or content. Probably something similar to Guild Wars 2.
GuildWars2 PVP is where I'm investing my PVP time. Lets just face it, NW will eventually get shut down. The combat system will be gone and the sooner those of us hooked on it wean ourselves off it the better.

Don’t PvP servers have an auction house? I didn’t see they were rolling back those trades that went through. I would assume you didn’t get a ban for buying something off the auction house, but I don’t know how you undo it if what was bought has been converted/combined with something else. This coding blunder was so obvious on logging in, it proves they don’t test patches before they go live.
Depends on your progression. If you have all the artifacts and have done a bunch of Gorgon runs- Then no. If you still need to do that content, then sure you have goals to work towards

If you leave the cash register open by accident, does it make it less of a crime of someone steals the money? Metaphorically the same. People knew what they were doing and it would have harmed hundreds of players experience on a fresh server. Bugs can happen and are not by choice. It's not like they intended it. But willingly abusing exploits is a choice. Fully deserved

They could have put the servers offline within the first few minutes of being notified and only have had to deal with a handful of people that transferred and abused AGS's mess up. Yes, most of them would have known they're doing something against TOS but there will also definitely be some people caught in the crossfire- that maybe just downloaded the game again, then transferred their old character to any other server because it wasn't tied to one anymore or theirs was on a dead server and every server was marked as normal. Every other game I can think of, would have just rolled back to the backup prior to the patch which would have fixed everything, especially after leaving it for HOURS to get out of control in every way possible. The counter to your analogy- if a farmer left a gate open to the sheep's pen... You'd just expect the sheep to not escape? Just because they're locked up in there usually with boundaries doesn't mean some of them aren't going to escape given the chance. Your analogy just uses law and human decency to try to make a point. I transferred my legacy to seasonal and ill be honest I didn't think it'll work but it did, I did pvp outside ww for like 5 minutes and then did a OPR but honestly it got super boring then I transferred it back. So I honestly don't think I deserve the ban considering I didn't trade, sell or nothing of that sort. But I definitely knew what I was doing so I did spend more money to transfer back. Now if I get 2 transfer tokens after this imma be annoyed cause I rectified my own "mistake" but it is what it is

No it's not remotely enough, or good. The PVP servers did EXACTLY what we said it would do, brings out all the toxic dipshits who just run around in raid groups and kill low level people. That is not what PVP is about, that's just griefing. This will make sure that there will NEVER be another PVP server that some people so desperately wanted, because... it's not fun. There is no system in place to stop people from being twats. So new world can fail and go away for all I care, because the devs/leadership is so poor that they couldn't see this coming. And anyone who isn't a jobless loser has almost no chance because again, you are just completely outnumbered.

On NA east it is crazy the PvP sever is piping off and races are the most players the. I have ever seen everywhere
