I love This, maybe one day i'll get the courage to take a language lesson 🤔 it's so interesting to see how you study, i burn out myself in all of my languages at one haha I'm a masochist 🇫🇷🇩🇪🇧🇷🇯🇵
You definitely should go ahead and take the jump!!
Same!! I just love listen to her speaking all these languages
Muscle memory is stored in a very different region of the brain (and a much more permanent one if I am not mistaken). So what you said about sign languages makes a lot of sense!
i should do some research on that!
@@elyssespeaks I'll have a look at it too! If I'm not mistaken, Broca's Area is for vocabulary and Wernicke's area for grammar and structure. I'm not sure how they integrate with motor pathways though.
Omg the part at 6:52 about accidentally sprinkling in the German filler words is so damn relatable! 😂 I have a lot of English students who sprinkle in filler words that aren't their native language or English, and I love it tbh
hahahaha it’s such a struggle!!
Hi Elysse, I see that you've been learning Turkish recently! That's great :)
If you're looking for a language partner, I'm all in! Maybe you remember, I was a community tutor on italki just like you for a very long time and I would be very happy to help you out with your Turkish. I speak German and Italian besides English and Turkish so maybe we could apply this good old laddering technique together as well. ;)
Hope to hear from you!
Erol
Obrigada!
this motivated me to take a language lesson soon and it also reinforced how much i want to learn ASL. love the video idea, keep it up!
i’m so glad!! make sure to work with a Deaf tutor for lessons ~
Omg you are so amazing! Good luck!!!💕
Okay, this was just phenomenal! I also started learning Turkish about a month ago coincidentally. It's the first language that I've ever started from scratch by self-studying. It's been a really interesting experience so far! Something that really helped me was using Language Transfer's free Turkish lessons to build a foundation. It really helped establish my ability to create novel sentences, and I was constantly able to build off of what I already knew. I highly recommend it if you're a fan of audio lessons!
Anyway, thank you so much for this video! You've inspired me to start studying multiple languages again.
Noted! Laddering is a bit tricky so I might consider some more english language resources. and hey, i’m so glad to hear you enjoyed it :)
loves this portuguese content so much!!!😍 i know the brazilians will probably flood ur comments but you sound great still! also I'm so motivated to go get some italki lessons now
go do it shishterrrr
and yes slay i hope to make more PT videos soon!
Loved this video! It's so nice to see that we all forget words and sometimes we need to build our confidence up again. This happened to me with German, Portuguese and Dutch. Ever since I started working for a German company, I've been using German like everyday and the others with my friends and just taking in a lot of content and it's really nice.
i’m so jealous that you get to use German thag mhcb hahaha. and yesss that’s exactly what i hoped to do with the video, so many people assume i’m 100% fluent in everything but i have my struggles too. thank u for watching!!
@@elyssespeaks It was super intimidating at first but I'm enjoying it a lot! But thanks for the amazing content and keep inspiring!!! 🌟 🌟
Yesss, I have ADHD and sometimes I find it hard to process stuff in English let alone other languages lmao. Producing has always been really hard for me. Love this video and feel very inspired :)
sorry that's made it harder for you :( i have a feeling i might have ADHD too but i'm too scared to go get evaluated
Woooow this was so fun to watch! I really enjoyed it and now I know you’e crazy 😂 would love to see a video on 5 lessons of the same language to see how quickly you improve :) also waiting for more Portuguese videos because I like your accent
I’ll put that video on the list! and hahaha i’ll try :)
Thanks for the video, I really liked it. You are one of the language learners on youtube who inspire me the most, every time I watch your video I get a new surge of motivation for my languages :)
Thank you Eliška!! that’s exactly what i hope to do 🤩 i’m so lucky to have your attention!
What an awesome experiment! I love your outlook and the positive takeaways you had despite the challenges. I can empathize with the difficulty of keeping languages straight during lessons on italki. In the last few years I've been taking both Polish and Ukrainian lessons every week, and it's still so hard for me not to mix vocabulary, sounds or accent between the languages. And then, when I recently took a Spanish lesson on italki, I automatically started going over to Ukrainian or Polish! Anyway, this video definitely inspires me to keep up my ability to regularly speak the languages I know.
Loved the video! You have such great video ideas. Keep it up amiga!
I try to keep it crafty 😝 gracias jefe!!
Ok, I'm officially impressed! And I really like the video idea.. I'd love to see it more often on your channel, but it also requires lots of time and effort. Appreciate it very much!!
i can definitely incorporate more of my lessons onto my channel! i know it helps ppl to feel more confident seeing even *youtubers* at their most vulnerable 😆 thank ya for the feedback, glad you enjoyed
Coming to this video hella late but I loved it! 🎉❤ one, because I’m also a language learner, and two, I’m an English tutor on iTalki so I like being able to check out other tutor styles. Keep up the baller work!
so glad you liked the video! ~
Really loving this new content!!!
thank you!! can i ask a follow up? 😄 what specifically did you like?
@@elyssespeaks The amount of languages spoken and varying content! I feel like your content lately before these 3 newer videos have been very revolved around German, which I still like but it might not appeal to non-German learners like myself. A balance of sit-down videos and vlogs is nice too. You diving into Turkish has also been fun to watch since it’s a more obscure and complex language, which I’m sure many are curious about your approach as well. This also comes down to personal opinion, but your editing has also become more fun and less dull!!! Anyways, thanks for making such high-quality vids even with all you have going on!!!
You're literally my hero. I'm learning Flemish and Italian right now but I miss German. I learnt it for a few years but I realized I had no one to practice it with so since I'm living in Brussels I switched to Flemish.
you’re MY hero, good luck friend!!!
Wow!
I adore your channel, the way you make your videos is fantastic. And I love that you learning asl, none of the language youtubers I've watched had even mentioned something like, so I find it really interesting. I'm Brazilian and your portuguese is amazing!! Você também é incrível!! Beijão!! E boa jornada pra você!!
Thank you so much 💜 I’m glad you enjoy them Rafael!! Beijos desde 🇺🇸:)
It’s been only a month but you’re already doing great! I wish you good luck with Turkish. Bol şans:)
thanks so much! ❤️ that’s very encouraging
When you spoke in Portuguese, you were able to replicate very well the way of Brazilians speak, It's a really hard thing to do. That "Caramba mano, tu fala muito bem" was perfect.
I'm trying to do the same learning English but I've a crush for accents, so for curiosity, besides the "traditional" American English, I'm watching some videos about the south accent, specifically from Texas, and the british, taking care to not mix specific words.
i loveeed this video idea!
Obrigada!! Que bom que você gostou 🤗
Esse vídeo tem 0 defeitos. Muito bom, Elysse!!
owww obrigada christian :)
Love your channel!
I'm brazilian and I listen to your portuguese playlist on spotify, but 'terno rei' is missing there tho xD
just added! i’ll listen
Elysse I'm still new to your channel but I am S H O O K. How you can speak so many languages is so beyond me, I'm still trying to reach B1 German and it's only my second language like HOW, super impressive 🏆 And you're 22 ?? Like have you been learning since you were legit 2 years old ?? 😂
Sidenote, do you know what level you are at in all the languages you've learned? (Does ASL have a CEFR thing??)
P.S congrats on making some awesome videos, I can see how much effort goes into putting them together and it pays off 😊
I just don’t have anything else to do HAHAHA and no, i’ve only been on German on and off since i was 16 or so..
i try not to focus on CEFR levels, i have a rough idea but i’ve never taken a test. and ASL doesn’t use CEFR to my knowledge
thank u for watching! 🙏
Found you on easy German podcast 😁love your content
ahhhh thanks so much!!
That's nice, thanks for this video👍🏻
thanks for watching it!
Ohh nice, keep doing it ! Maybe you can learn more in the future with your progressive work , from brazil🇧🇷
Promessa é dívida viu Elysse!! kkkkkk
Inspirational >
❤️
I‘m fluent in english turkish and german but I never really had to learn a language because I grew up speaking german turkish and english from an early age. That’s why I always struggle with learning languages I think . I just don’t know where to start because I never thought of language’s as something I needed to learn or study for I just kind of always knew how to talk in them 😅
that's still a wonderful gift to have-- three languages right from birth! i have plenty of videos on how to study languages in general, i hope they can help you :)
çekmek is like get, It has so many meanings.
like turist çekmek 'attracting tourists'
fotoğraf/video çekmek 'recording video/pic'
tişörtümü çekti 'he pulled my t-shirt'
iple çekiyorum 'looking forward to'
canım tatlı çekiyor ' I'm craving for dessert'...
My brain would explode doing this
oh it definitely exploded
I would love to try sing language one day, it is interesting that you forgot less due to muscle memory 😮
Omg I'm brazilian and I got to say that she speaks sooo good portuguese and I didn't even notice she speaking "portunhol"
hahaha that’s sweet, thank you!
Elysseeeeeee love uuuuuuuu ❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍
I LOVE YOU 😀
❤❤❤❤ amazing
Can you make a video focusing on your ASL studies someday?
ehh maybe! like i said at the beginning of the ASL portion, i have reservations about making videos on ASL because hearing people make vids on it and they get way more attention than actual Deaf ppl’s ASL content.
Incrique o brasileiro ja começa falando do clima, mds kkkkkkkkkk
Hey!
I frequently study 6 languages all in one day every week LOL I call it my "Wild Card Day" and I make it be on Sundays so that I'm sure to get to it. It's a nice way to have a catchall day in case I didn't get to one of the languages I wanted to study that week.
Well done 👍
thanks!

I really enjoy your videos. I am a Canadian polyglot and I earn my living as a Spanish teacher.
i'm glad you enjoyed!! thanks so much for watching
HARİKASIN! 😍
Teşekkür ederim!!
16:13 Umarım Türkçe öğrenmeye devam edersin.
16:13 I hope you continue to learn Turkish.
Você poderia gravar como estuda a gramática??? Please
Senin Türkçe konuştuğunu görmek çok güzel 🥰
im turkish and you did a great job in this language you have a cute accent
Turkishh woow girll. Go on 🌺
Hey Elysse, what’s your mother language? I’m Brazilian and you did pretty good with Portuguese :)
English! I’m from the US
@@elyssespeaks ohh, that’s nice :)
I used to do the exact same mistake btw crying and raining rip. also now i NEED to know what çekmek translates to is2fg
i think we gotta give up and just learn all the terms by themselves 😭
dude, the way I made bascially the same mistake with "he is crying" (está llorando/ llora) and "it's raining" (está lloviendo/ llueve) in a Spanish class once. 🤦♀️ Zwei Dumme, ein Gedanke, I'd say. I like the way that these words are so similiar in latin languages tho bc it does make sense right? Like the sky is crying when it rains
A very humble polyglot. I love to see it
💕
I'm a native Turkish speaker and to be honest ı really liked your accent.
i appreciate that ~
My condolences
Çekmek: pull, withdraw, inhale, bear with something. Many meanings.
Sorry guysl,i just have a question what is the meaning of the sentence when she said i don't want to come out as a clout fishing hearie can somebody explains that to me,i'm sorry but i'm not An English native speaker so if someone explained to me what that means i would be really thankful
So, clout-fishing is when you are trying to gain (fish for) fame (clout). So, gaining fame = clout-fishing. Clout is a newer concept, used more by younger people. Clout-fishing is a negative term because it's used to describe people that do stupid things on the internet for fame.
Fishing can be used in lots of negative terms like this.
@@VoidHugger Thank you so much and sorry for my horrible English I'm so grateful thank you
@@islammustafa5874 No problem! Your english looks pretty good to me
I also just realised I forgot to explain the hearie part
In the deaf community there are words used to describe hearing and non-hearing (deaf) people. I've never heard the word hearie before, but it would just mean a person who can hear (not deaf)
So, a clout-chasing hearie is a person who, in this context, uses things from the deaf community to gain fame
@@VoidHugger yes I also never heard the word hearie but what Is the meaning of deaf community exactly (I'm sorry for questioning slot)
And sorry for my questions I've been learning English since my childhood I'm 16 years old so it's rare for me to find a word that I don't know the meaning of ( of course it appears that I'm not a native speaker but I spoke English since pretty young age and yet still bad in comparison to many people) so in case that happens I'll be looking up to find out whatever this word means and thanks again
This almost felt like a whack black mirror my strange addiction crossover
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN
Merhaba 👋🏻
We can do practises in turkish together I am turkish and I can speak english, ein bisschen Deutsch(ja Ich bin im Sprachkurs in Deutschland und mein Deutsch-Niveau ist B1 in Kurs) soo yeah thats all haha:)🫶🏻
I’m watching 5hrs after you uploaded this 💀

Highly respect the turkish/german combo
It worked 😆
When ı grauted the collece ı wanna learn forieng Languages
Great video! The only thing is it would be good to replace that annoying Super Mario music with smth more pleasant :)
Tebrikler, başarılar dilerim.. :)
Çekmek is Take,Withdraw
Onde clica para curtir 1000 vezes? ahhhhhhhh
🥺 obrigada!!
I hâte algeria
Your videos are lit but, respectfully, the music while your guests were speaking was overwhelming and distracting. Just a tip, no hate, mad admiration. Thank you for content!
Videos can be kind of bland without music though :/ i’ve found that people watch videos longer when they have music. Maybe i’ll just put it lower next time! thanks for watching
Your accent in Turkish is so native like. How could you do it?
Why is an algerian guy teaching french (he has a bad accent). I would advise to take lessons with a person who has French as first language
He’s a native speaker dumbass
Lame racist comment tbh
Lmaoooo We as Algerians speak French so well, whom are you lying to?
Omg you're Jewish???!! 😅😆
Sending love from Israel!! 🙏🙏🙏🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱
haha, it happens! I told you when I had a lesson with a German teacher I kept on saying, "ouais" 😂 you're a beast, girl!!!! haha, language avengers 🫠💜
