@@nathangrayvideo I'm not too precious about gear but that's probably because I settled on what I Iike many years ago - a shaped deck around 9" (currently a Dressen rose crew), Indy 169 with 1/8 risers and 58mm 101a wheels (currently Pig). My street days are over so it's smooth crete and wood transition all the way. Slowly re-learning stuff but my weight / strength / fitness are my biggest limiting factors at the moment but stoked to be rolling again, hopefully for a few more years.
@@nathangrayvideo Since I first started in the late 70s I've always loved skating. Even though I've taken long breaks over the years, the love never died, so, even now, I still have a strong urge to get on a board. :)
Cory! This was fun to watch, I was one of those four or five skaters Cory knew back in Minden, lol. (And the only girl skater there, for sure). I just turned 50 myself, and got a longboard for my birthday after wanting to get back on a board for years. Cory has sent me a lot of messages of encouragement since I got back into it, and it’s been really good for my morale. It’s a lot more scary than it was when I was 14, but still just as fun. Loved the video!
That's amazing Shannon. I'm excited for you; skateboard, the gift that keeps on givin! How in the heck did you find this video? please give a subscribe and share on your FB.
You are awesome ! 😎 I’m early 30s , tore my acl earlier this year and I’m already back on my board doing Ollies and nollies shuvs.. kick flips still hurt so I’m scared to land it .
Thats amazing! No the ollies do not. At this skatepark you can go from end to end without ollie’ing up or down anything. Got a place like that in your town?
The body is like a motor. If you dont keep the "oil" fresh, the motor will cease up. I know if i don't skate for a few days, the body gets tense. 41 here i try to skate a few times a week even if its a quick 30 minutes every other day.
@nathangrayvideo yes sir. My board and a pair of skate shoes stay in my truck so I can hit up the local parks near my workplace for 30 minutes during lunch.
Love it Dude - nice interview and good vibes. Not that I know what I’m talking about but can I offer constructive criticism (as a photographer) on the hopes that you’ll, (as a seasoned videographer) offer it to me when I need it? I think the center of Cory’s face was in the shadow of a tree branch. It wasn’t a distraction at all but would have been 10% better had it just been nicely balanced. Also, sound was great but when you level up next, score some wireless mics maybe and, what do they call them, dead cats? To reduce the wind noise. And longer! I could have listened for more. It was a fun show! And if you actually try to critique anything of mine, know you’ll be stepping into a war zone of mistakes. But thanks in advance anyway. OH!!! And thanks for the shoutout tag!!!
the lighting nor the lack or mics were ideal, but it was spontaneous. I thank you for watching the whole thing. Who would you like to see me do an interview with? i just got my audio/mic/iphone interface in the mail. better audio from here on out.
for me, it was wanting to do it with my kids; and choosing an excercise to do that didn't feel like a drag (like running was to me). Did you recently get back into it?
I grew up with Cory in Minden, and I am now 50. Great to see this from him, I need this kind of motivation!
That's Amazing! yes, he's definitely inspiring.
How did you even come across this video?
Back on my board at 62 after 12 years off. I wish I was 51 again!! lol Pad up and pace yourself.
hell yeah! sick. turning 52 in december.
"Pad up and Pace yourself" great advice! What's your current setup?
