My heart goes out to you Nick. My mum was in hospital for 7 months with leukemia. I had a child in primary school, worked 7.30am till 1.30pm then straight to hospital to visit 2 till 4 back home pick up daughter from a friend make tea and back to hospital 7pm to 8pm. Didn't miss a day and wouldn't of had it any other way but it was so exhausting. Keep your chin up laddo and love to both yourself and Leigh and for Gail too xxx

Don’t feel guilty. I’ve been through this with both my parents and it’s very draining mentally. My dad when I was 28 and my mom just this last 2 years and lost her last may. Feeling angry and frustrated at them is natural. The reason we feel these things is because we love them. Stay strong. You’re in my thoughts as I’m watching these videos.

It’s very very hard my daughter went through cancer and I did my videos for her to watch , to giver her ❤ and see her dad on UA-cam, it helped her and helped me at the same time, you both take care of each other and be strong ❤
Oh Nick do not feel guilty about needing a break. Supporting a sick loved one can be and is overwhelming at times. There is so much to take in on a daily basis, both from the medical team and the loved one, and you personally get put to the side. It can be exhausting, both physically and mentally. Your feelings are normal. Your Mom is so lucky to have the two of you supporting her and each other at this most difficult time. It’s normal to need a rest, it’s normal to be overwhelmed, it’s normal to feel sad, and it’s normal to feel frustrated. Sometimes you just want to run away from at all, and that’s normal too. So don’t feel guilty, take the time you need. That way you’ll be stronger and healthy and better able to support your mom. Take care. Hugs
I’m a caregiver in the US and I’ve been taught to always take care of yourself. If u feel like a break then take one. Also when ur with ur mom take a deck of cards and play solitaire or black jack (21). That what do with my client or get some puzzles that are only 25 pieces that would keep her mind and hands going

For the best part of November all of December and into the new year until jan 6th we was with my sister every day , it tears you apart inside, I did this on top of vlogs and running The Florida Forum and it could of finished me off , the only thing I am grateful of now is sharing moments, asking what the favourite things my sister enjoyed and capturing her story on video to remember forever , thoughts with you all .

I do not normally commment on the videos I watch, I love your videos, Now, I would like to direct this to Nick, You will feel Guilty, about your mom, and it is a normal reaction to feel angry. But you are correct, you need a break from it also. My sister and myself went through this with our Mom. We were lucky, I suppose in one sense, we asked to have a few minutes with the lady that helped the families through all the things that happen, they were amazing, with us also. It is hard, so very hard, you feel you have to be there, or share the hours with family. Please keep that, I need a break from it all, at the formost of your mind. It is the most exhausting thing we have done, and., we nursed dad at home. make that time, however little for yourself, it is needed. I do not mind this post being public, as I believe it needed to help others who are going through this situation with loved ones. all the emotions you are feeling is normal, all the I must do this or that, but never loose sight that you too are Human, and need to be able to function, so having a break, and time to yourself is important. As I said before the strain on the patient is hard but half the time their out of it and none the wiser yet the people caring for them it’s so darn hard my dad had delirium he needed watching 24/7 he tried to heat his slippers in the oven once!
You do need to be able to take a break every now and then, and not feel so guilty about it, since you can only be so much good for someone if you are overwhelmed by stress and exhaustion. So letting someone else take over for a while is actually in everybody’s best interest. On a happier note, the tikka masala looks good, though the thought of cauliflower and broccoli rice is a definite turn-off for me.
Get frozen cauliflower rice. There is no smell whatsoever. I know what you mean with the shelf rice. It’s minging. It’s the preserving gas they pack it with.
OMG now you have done it. Heading back to Scotland in May (first trip since 2019) and you are making me go through a Rotten Ronnies (aka McDonald) for a Maltezer McFlurry so that I can try one. You deserved them. ❤️♥️❤️
Aww sending hugs to you both from Australia 🤗. Don’t feel guilty Nick, you have been awesome with your mum but you also need to look after yourself so that you can stay a strong support for her💪. Missing a visit or two (when other people are there) won’t have an impact on your mum but it will benefit you heaps and allow you to recharge those drained batteries x Oh and frozen cauliflower (or freshly grated) rice is way better than the packet stuff…. I lightly fry or place in oven to give it a bit of texture, much better and you don’t get that horrible smell or taste.

i was advised when smelling candles always smell the lid not the candle because the candle can be over powering hope this helps guys.
