You should see bleach.. it's last arc is coming in October this year... The twist you will see there will take you to another plane of existence... This revelation in Naruto is second best twist after bleach I have seen/read

It was probably an implication that none of them truly wanted to get there; but no choice at that point but to push forward. I don't think Nagato ever trusted "Madara". This is also hinted at several times during the show, starting with the flashbacks with Nagato/Yahiko and the Akatsuki they wanted to create had nothing to do with what Akatsuki was post 3rd Great Ninja War.

Well the scene can be interpreted a couple ways. We know Pain can control the rain and we saw this as Tobi was talking to them. After he left the sky was raining heavily to which konan said at the end “pain.. you…”.
My guess is pain actually felt anger in that moment towards obito whom he never trusted from the beginning

Pain (Yahiko), Nagato and Konan were the ones who created, built and developed the Akatsuki organization which originally aimed to create world peace. Tobi (Obito) only manipulated Nagato to want to change Akatsuki and carry out Obito's goals. Yahiko was the original leader of Akatsuki before he finally chose to die at the hands of Nagato.

MISCONCEPTION: Obito was never the leader of the akatsuki. He was a BENEFACTOR to the organisation. An outsider who attempted to use the goals of Nagato to benefit himself. Obito ONLY took charge once pain died and konan left. Never was this ever said. In fact obito himself referred to nagato as the leader and even if he didn’t, he had no say since nagato was the Co-founder of the organisation. Obito was an individual who provided knowledge and a different aid to the ground all the whole secretly waiting for his opportunity to get the upper hand.
He’s clearly telling them what to do in this scene, nobody says “I will not tolerate failure” to Pain except somebody who would be stronger and in charge of them
@@johndo3713 that’s a mistranslation on their part. The actual translation is “as it’s leader, failure won’t be tolerated”. Go check the sub and you’ll see this to be the case. Pain was never scared of obito. In that scene you had Konan almost mocking obito saying he’s “invincible”.

@@johndo3713 the English version doesn’t matter because again, it’s a mistranslation. You’re attempting to make a mistranslation cannon. As for why Pain does it, it’s because his goals align with obito. If you watch the akatuski formation, you’ll see even obito himself was questioned by Pain as to what he also did. The relationship was mutual. Only obito attempted to make it seem otherwise to which he tried to impose on Konan however that’s the dilemma. Konan told obito he had no say in what Pain wanted because his goal was always his own and something he came to on his own conclusion. nagato had his goal of wanting peace at a very young age, way before obito even met him. The only thing which changed was the way he went about it.
@@thepermanentshockedface9177 I never said Nagato was afraid of him I know that even if he thought he was going to lose he’d fight him. But there is in fact a hierarchy in the Akatsuki. Yes Nagato was the figurehead leader and only him, Konan, Zetsu and Itachi knew about Tobi but he’s clearly ordering Nagato to capture Naruto here and there is no way around that. Obito never needed to step out of the shadows until Nagato died. He actually probably thought very highly of Nagato just like he did with Kisame. They both turned out to be very similar in the end even with both of them using Rinne Rebirth for the enemy although Zetsu took over Obito and made him use it for Madara’s benefit. He even insinuates that it’s almost like Jiraiya defeated him because of his connections with Minato, Nagato and Naruto. I have no disrespect for Nagato he’s by far my second favorite Akatsuki member behind Obito, me and Nagato even have similar straight reddish brown hair because that’s what I expect the color would be in real life kinda like auburn. I definitely think they were very similar in strength too with Nagato having more destructive power but Obito is harder to defeat. Like Obito didn’t even bother to use the Rinnegan’s abilities because they knew how to counter them and Kamui was just so OP. I would have loved to see him use them though. I hate that borrowed power argument too because Nagato and Obito never awakened the Rinnegan themselves they’re somehow inferior? Not saying you were using that argument but I really hate it and it’s the only argument people use too try and justify their dumbazz opinion that Itachi is a superior Shinobi. If I was going to rank the top 5 strongest Akatsuki members it would go like this.
1. Obito (orange mask)
2. Nagato (not far behind Obito)
3. Itachi (significant decline in strength from the first two but also a very powerful god like Shinobi)
4. Kisame (very powerful but we are out of god tier power when we get passed the first three)
5. Konan (very underrated and forced Izanagi after Obito didn’t take her seriously enough but needed years of prep time to even put up a fight against somebody who wasn’t even fighting her seriously, but give her credit she is one of the best tactical Shinobi in the series)
Honorable mention. Orochimaru would be top 4 but he left the Akatsuki too early. In Boruto he may have surpassed them all if you want to consider that jutsu he used to turn a girl into dust with one head nod canon.
Biggest flex in anime history
The only bad thing about this moment in the story is by revealing Tobi as the true leader, it kills a lot the moment of Pain's first formal appearance as an antagonist, especially because of the spectacular soundtrack with the theme "Girei".
Remember when we all thought this was the Tobi reveal?
