Merlin & Daenerys | The Day I Die

- After Daenerys's dragons are stolen, Merlin swears that he will help the dragon queen recover them...even if it means putting his own life at risk.
A couple of notes:
1) This video is a sequel to my video "The Dragon's Daughter," which you can watch here: • The Dragon's Daughter ... . Because the first video was from Arthur's point of view,I decided to "tell" this story from Merlin's perspective and really build up the love triangle. If all goes according to plan, I'll make a final video from Dany's perspective when GoT Season 3 comes out :)
2) Two things that may not be entirely clear: (A) At the beginning, Arthur was one of the scouts sent out to find the closest city/a way out of the Red Waste. (B) The ending is deliberately ambiguous. I was trying to show that Dany's feelings toward Merlin may have started to change after the experience they shared in the House of the Undying, but in a very, very subtle way.
3) I tried to build up Dany/Arthur and Dany/Merlin equally, and I hope that I was successful! Both pairings are incredibly interesting to me. In many ways, Merlin is a great stand-in for Jorah, since Jorah's relationship with Dany is very similar to the Arthur-Merlin dynamic. I also don't think that Dany would necessarily go for him at first - particularly if Arthur was around - but I do imagine that Merlin would have a ridiculous crush on Dany.
I would love to hear which pairing worked better. I'll take it into consideration when I make the final video :)

omg this is simply PHENOMENAL!! i was blown away literally blown, especially by the conversations between Dany/Merlin/Arthur. they sounded like an actual one. flawless job

Thank you for your comment! The conversations were the trickiest part, so I'm glad they sounded real to your ears. As I mentioned above, a lot of Merlin's dialogues with Arthur work really well with some of Dany's dialogues.

Poor thing, even in AUs he's the one who has to suffer though ^^'' but I really wouldn't know, if the roles were inverted I would probably be sorry for Arthur too, you make the triangle so interesting and make it so clear how both of them care for her...Dany is a lucky one! Whichever way you end it, it will surely be epic and I'll be happy to watch! Never ever stop vidding, I always miss your crossovers and whenever I see one I just jump in happiness and know I will never be disappointed

Oooh I can't wait for both videos! I seriously rewatch a "Change of Destiny" all the time. It's one of my favorite videos on UA-cam. The idea of an evil Arthur and a good Morgana is so intriguing, especially because there have been a few moments in the series where Arthur has been a morally grey character.
About what you said on my vids, omg, thank you, as always so kind! *is flattered* I have actually started working just yesterday, after a long period of looking for the right music, on a new crossover storyline involving dragons ^_^ I will probably need more than one video (and a lot of time! xD) for that...we'll see! :) and I've had people asking me about a sequel to "A change of destiny" so I'm starting planning on that too, just waiting for Merlin s5 to end to get ideas :3
I seriously just always love what you do. But the audio in this is definitely your best yet. I got sucked into the story so easily because of it. And because I know the audio pretty well, I know that you put a lot of work into piecing it all together from completely different episodes. Everything just fit so well. From the conversations to the dragon's narration it was all perfect. The story was great as well. I really just wanted to reach in and hug Merlin by the end of it.
I loved it!!! I think both pairings worked and I like that this video is from Merlin's pov because that's how shows clear that Merlin is in love with Dany!!! Well I liked your video as always because as always your videos are fabulous!!!

I'm flattered to be called the master of crossovers! And the song is also one of my favorites. I sometimes struggle to find a good instrumental piece, but I heard this one and thought that it was absolutely perfect for the story I was trying to tell! :)

You are BRILLIANT! I probably end up saying the same things every time you make a new crossover, but each one of them is so original and believable and your matching dialogue skills are really UNIQUE, it all sounded so real! Especially loved the initial bit of dialogue between Dany/Merlin, and the one between Dany/Arthur

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Your Merlin/Dany video was a huge inspiration (seriously, can I persuade you to make another one? Or a sequel to your 'change of destiny' video?). I'm glad that you liked both pairings. Arthur and Dany are similar in that they both have headstrong personalities and are born leaders. But Merlin and Dany obviously share the common bond of magic and dragons, and that's incredibly interesting to vid, too. So, I'll have to decide how it ends after season 3!

Actually, while this is a brilliant video (and it is, it really is), you didn't give the pairings anything close to equal buildup. The Arthur/Dany relationship is clearly given ascendancy. Which is fine but if you were going for a change in the Merlin/Dany relationship, well, it didn't quite happen. Maybe another video? Because I really like the idea of M/D. Anyway, great job on what you did achieve!

Thank you for your insightful comment! What I was trying to say is that I was aiming to equally build up both men’s feelings about Dany - not her relationships with them. I intended for A/D to be the dominant relationship in the sense that Dany reciprocates Arthur’s feelings, but I also tried to convey that Dany and Merlin have a common bond/understanding over magic that Arthur will never truly understand, as evidenced in his initial refusal to take her the House of the Undying...cont.
Dany is only just starting to realize it at the end of the video. I plan to make a third and “final” video about these three that will bring the love triangle to the center of the stage, so this video had to lay a lot of groundwork in order to make a shift from Arthur/Dany to Arthur/Dany/Merlin believable :)

I'll try to be as reasonable as possible (being a M/D shipper it is). A/D may seem stronger due to the spark of immediate attraction you showed in the middle of the vid, but Merlin's perspective is overall more consuming to me as a viewer. I would even ask of you to show more of Arthur's perspective (not his only claim of Dany when he denied the possibility of a friendship between her and Merlin). I undrestand the concept of "building" the relationships and I welcome it. Therefore, M/D!

I have taken an instant dislike to Arthur, just as you think he's turned from an ass to kind he robs Merlin of happiness. Poor Merlin has to put up with him, Dany and Merlin were meant to be in this not Dany and Arthur. In my opinion! Great vid :-D
