Her performance in Hereditary is one of the best female performances in years. How her character spirals into darkness as the film progresses was astounding. The way as an actress she maintains the fever pitch her character portrays through most of the story is an achievement itself. If you don’t see her name mentioned in circles during Oscar season it will be a great shame.
@@ShayCat that is the defining scene of the movie I swear I .. I saw this twice in theaters I was privileged enough to do that and years later that scene is unforgettable and a real go to when this movie comes up or to mind , it’s amazing considering what else is in this film ! But that really just sticks out and I have practiced that monologue and I’m not much of an actor and not anywhere in the realm of Toni obvi .. but just trying to recreate any of that with emotion is draining
not to dump on method actors but I love the fact that she says she only tuned in the intensity "when they call 'action' ". no "I need to be in character at all time", no "I pranked my colleagues during the entire shoot", no "I reminded my costar of her recently deceased boyfriend whilst shooting because I wanted a reaction out of her" or "I ate a raw bison liver and I was cold for REAL"... just, a damn good actor. end of story.
Jake Gyllenhaal earned the biggest Oscar for that from me. Incredible performance. And Toni has always been amazing, and this performance just warranted more than an Oscar. I’m glad people recognized the snub.
Her acting was amazing, along with Alex Wolffs. It felt so genuine and every moment of despair was something i actually felt like i could relate too. This was one of those good films ive ever watched in my life
Not only the scariest but the BEST movie of the year hands down! Everyone was fantastic in this film and Miss Collette should win every award. This is the kind of film you cannot stop thinking about. I do not scare easily however after 2 veiwings I had to slept with the light on. Highly recommended and Bravo!
First of all, I din't know she's Australian until now, and her speaking voice is sooooo good! Second, her performance in Hereditary and in other movies I've watched are just amazing. Finally, she should've won an Oscar for her role here. She's just, amazing!
I read somewhere that she wanted her agent to only pick up comedy roles for her during that time, and the agent sent her Hereditary😂 Now she's a new horror icon
Such an amazing amazing actress. every part she did felt so real. *spoiler* especially the part she finds her daughter, and the crying from that point on. I felt so much dread hearing her breaking down the way she did. one of my fav movies
Hereditary - Toni Collette Interview
You mean to tell me she did the sacrifice/beg/fireplace scene in one take and was improvising?
This woman needs a medal, a crown and a damn Oscar.
And she seems to be kind and down to earth. Toni is the whole package.

No truer words. An award-winning performance all the way around.
I coined her for an award in Sixth Sense already. Before that I only knew her from Muriel's Wedding. My favorite actress !
She's so good she made me forget I was watching a movie
That dinner scene. Good grief!
Literally

Definitely. To bring it every time when they call "action", being a total 180..that's what you call a brilliant actor!
Method acting is not acting
She’s an amazing actress.I have met her numerous times here in Sydney.Funny and very down to earth.Does a great Homer Simpson impression.
.
@The Bad Guy !
Toni, your Oscar is with this film.
And the winner is....
Paimon!!!
All the priests are ready.
God level acting. Deserves a win in whatever category she'll be nominated in. She made the movie
The juxtaposition between her normal personality and this character just proves how amazing she is.
The fact she wasn’t even nominated for an Oscar is crazy. Her performance was one of the best I’ve ever seen.
Horror movies don’t get nominated for an Oscar.
She should get all the awards.
One of the most incredible actresses of our time. She is absolutely phenomenal.
Please God give her the Oscar. I'm hoping she doesn't get shaded like Essie Davis in The Babadook.
Yes!! Well said. Essie Davis was phenomenal too
not even a nomination. the academy sucks.
Oh yeah she was great in babadook
Biggst Oscar snub in recent memory. Can't believe she wasn't even nominated. This is like when Jake Gyllenhal wasn't nominated for Nightcrawler.
Jake Gyllenhaal earned the biggest Oscar for that from me. Incredible performance. And Toni has always been amazing, and this performance just warranted more than an Oscar. I’m glad people recognized the snub.
Fr!!

Toni gives one of the best performances of her career. Her acting was breathtaking. It is really a pity she wasn´t even nominated.
She such a great actress!! She deserves this year Oscar.
Oscar for everything in this film, please!!!!!
First of all, I din't know she's Australian until now, and her speaking voice is sooooo good! Second, her performance in Hereditary and in other movies I've watched are just amazing. Finally, she should've won an Oscar for her role here. She's just, amazing!
Toni Collette is a national treasure.
Love her. She did great in the film
The fact she didn't get an Oscar for this film...
Toni Collette deserves an oscar for this role
A movie with Toni Colette and Bryan Cranston will definitely be mind-blowing!
I read somewhere that she wanted her agent to only pick up comedy roles for her during that time, and the agent sent her Hereditary😂 Now she's a new horror icon
Can't imagine the movie without Toni.
She can really act.
she is really deserving of an oscar for her performance in this film.
This movie haunted me for days after seeing it. Damn it was terrifying.
Toni Collette! What a performance 🙏🙏🙏
This is easily the most frightening film I’ve seen as an adult… Collette’s reaction scene to her daughter dying cut me to my core 😮💨
Such an amazing amazing actress. every part she did felt so real. *spoiler* especially the part she finds her daughter, and the crying from that point on. I felt so much dread hearing her breaking down the way she did. one of my fav movies
Outstanding performance! 👏🏽
she’s such a good actress that I’m always taken back when I see an interview and am reminded she has an accent
I pray she’s nominated for best actress and Alex wolf best supporting actor
me too! I think Alex deserves it more than anyone else!
This movie was scary af
Zhoviah Yeah it was pretty disturbing and twisted!
Zhoviah very twisted and corrupted movie I loved it so much.
Most underrated actor of our time.
mind blowing performance by toni collette
She's just so good in this.
She was soooo good in the movie. 👍👍👍
Wow I thought she was American lol
Me too
Yes,she deserve the academy award
Not gonna lie because of this movie and her performance in it I couldn’t sleep at all last night
if she doesn't get the oscar I WILL RIOT. she better fuckin get nomination at least.
Toni's lovely accent has changed a lot over the years. Likely from her having to put on an American accent.
Toni Collette is so thoughtful and engaging in interviews. Other actors should take notes.
Give the woman her Oscar already
I love this film
Paint thinner scene was breathtaking! Literally!
You scared the hell out of me 🤣😃😃🤣
She is brilliant.
Watching this after watching the movie to calm the scares 😂
After watching this and The Lighthouse, i want a movie starring Toni Collette and Willem Dafoe as a married couple in crisis...
where is her Oscar?
WHERE is her Oscar?
Really scary! Loved the film
Her accent in the film is completely different as well. Whoah.
Thought she was almost going to get up and walk like an Egyptian with those bangles!
toni was massive! i loved this film.
Such a great actress! The movie was crazyyyy. Just did a review on our channel. Check it out if u haven’t seen it yet
She’s Daniel Day-Lewis status!
title was correct-very generic interview
She's similar little bit at Uma Thurman
It feels weird seeing Collette in makeup ._.
this is the first time realizing Toni Collette is Australian!?
She was robbed of her Oscar, because for some reason the Academy hates Horror Films.
Maybe Oz`s best actor
SHES AUSTRALIAN? THE FUCK
The only complaint I have about this movie, is that it had moments where it draaaaags. Other than that it was spectacular.
OMG she has an accent what
that one dislike tho
Let me tell you a secret: This is not Toni.
Am I the only one who thinks Toni Collette looks like a mature version of Jamie Jackson xxx? (WARNING 18+)
Fuck off. Didn't you get the memo? Porn is dead. Go talk a walk.
great film till the hack dogshit ending. AMAZING performance.
Frank Feldman the ending was the best part of the whole movie
