Bed bugs are one of my biggest fears about travelling. I took a short trip for a few weeks in europe last year, staying in hostels, and I read up so much information about them beforehand it almost put me off the trip. I only stayed in around 4-5 hostels total. I want to go on a much bigger trip and this is still a major fear of mine. The thought of them feasting of you of a night. And then there is the worry about bringing them home. I would love to do the Camino de Santiago but I've heard the bed bug problem their is ridiculous so don't think I will be doing it any time soon. When I was in the hostels I had read beforehand about how to check for them but to be honest I just didn't have the stomach to check and just hoped for the best.
do you say to the receptionist that before you check in you would like to inspect the bed first? Do you check only your bed or others in the room? What if you see signs. If they offer you another room do you take it or do you get as far away from that hostel as possible?

What I mean was, how will you approach it from this (that) point on?
I just checked that hostel and it has a 9.3 review on hostel world. Scary that bed bugs can be found at the nicest of places.
I'm planning a trip should I go to Ohrid or Israel?

What about the cost?
No legroom again...well, next time ask the locals for a real bus company like Galeb or Delfina.Not wannabe one like Classic :)
