Watching this makes me think that all these people who are gleefully awaiting the so called Rapture, would in fact be horrified by the experience!

After rewatching, the chiropractor scene seems like a good parallel to how Asher is ignored and fucked over in the last episode of the show.

That's a really good catch! And it's also a perfect metaphor for Asher and Whitney forcing themselves on the community and ignoring what the community actually wants

@@igottouchedatthecinema Yes!! There’s so many parallels and foreshadowing in each episode especially because they knew how it was gonna end from the beginning lol

I think the final episode is amazing. What I got out of it is that the Curse is his love for her, to the point that it is the glass house they live in.
And when he is floating away, I think it signals the point in their relationship when Whitney is ready to move on. I've read that there are women who will fall out of love with their baby daddy after giving birth, or during pregnancy, and so when she is giving birth or near to doing so, is when his groundedness becomes questionable. A man who only lives to love a woman is bound to become usurped when his reality of the situation no longer exists. So her giving birth and realizing she doesn't need him, causes him to lose ground and float away.

I hadn't made the glass house connection! I always just thought of the mirrored walls giving a warped reflection of Asher and Whitney but the idea of Asher and Whitney (who constantly throw stones and accuse other people of being bad) living in a glass house makes the whole metaphor even stronger
And that's a really interesting reading of Asher's ending, his only purpose in Whitney's life was to be someone who worshipped her and loved her unconditionally but now she has a baby to do that she doesn't need him anymore so he's gone. There are so many layers to this show! I'm sure there will be new interpretations and discoveries about it for years

Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie were a match made in heaven because they both love triggering people's anxiety

It brought back some of the emotions I experienced watching Louie, amongst all the mind numbing garbage it's great, and Emma is extraordinary.

Go for it! Even after hyperventilating in the final episode I still consider it the best show of the year

I watched the first season but then fell off. But I really liked season 1, maybe I should give it another try! Is it similar to The Curse?
