Good video and nice 240Z. I love the Zs. I have a 78 that I put a Z32 5 speed in (RS5R30A) using an adapter plate. It's a pretty strong feeling transmission. Using a 97 Infinity Q45 LSD and CV shafts, it pulls hard. All T3 suspension. The Datsuns are so much fun.

      Sounds like an amazing setup!

@@atombawm Thanks, I should've did the triple carbs like you did but I went with fuel injection. It's a 3.2L stroker with too much cam. Makes it hard to drive around casually. But take off is real fun.

@@harlest71 ive been looking at the itb setups, if i wasnt already all in on what i currently have id be exploring fuel injection options for sure. What cam did you go with? Mine is schneider stage 3

@@atombawm itb setup would be nice, I was unsure if I could get the low end torque I wanted with such short runners so the intake was hollowed out as much as possible and added a 240sx throttle body with big injectors. Rebello did the engine and injection so I'm not sure what cam but she lopes pretty nice. Can't drive at 25mph in second gear, it wants die. Idle is high. !st pulls really hard though LOL.

Hah sounds like a monster! With the mikuni 40phh, stage 3 cam and cylinders .030 over i have good mid range power but everything is still fresh and breaking in so i havent flogged the throttle much, havent used the whole rpm gauge yet, ~20 miles on build.

Fantastic video sir, really appreciate your efforts on that, by time I’ve finished my resto of 1977 Fairlady z S31 it’ll be only thing I’ve not touched too, I think I may need to stick it into a shop. Where did you pick up your gasket set etc?

Thank you! I sourced my parts from a few different places like thezstore, datsun garage and zcarsource.

ya i did this on my 83 maxima (same trans) new synchros and bearings but it doesnt shift the best. these transmissions are kind of a work horse but they dont feel the best.

2:49 one of the biggest pains in the asses on these cars is the driveshaft bolts LOL its a love hate for me.

Separating the cases was the most time consuming for me, magic of editing let you guys miss out on the 1 hour i spent getting the tail housing off because the bearing collar got cocked and didnt stay seated in the housing.

I have the factory manual and I need to do what you did and take it apart and put it in a binder. It is the original book and it is falling apart LOL

Binders with tabs is the way to go! Takes a bit of time but in the end its worth it.

Im not sure, i tossed the packaging a few days after getting the job done. I got the whole kit from one of these places: datsun garage, the z store (motorsport auto), zcardepot.
