Once you've seen "Sing Me" live, you'll learn to love it, trust me. They had it as their end song for their first world tour and it's just such a banger of an ending to a concert.
you do have a few youngk’s rap parts left but it’s true he doesn’t really rap anymore, it’s kind of sad but i think you’ll enjoy him a lot as a vocalist too! so excited for your reaction to the upcoming two albums!! the ‘every day6 project’ really gave us some of their best songs 🥹
I don’t know if anyone’s mentioned this to you yet, but the next albums; Sunrise & Moonrise have 6 title tracks each with MVs, as they were part of the EveryDay6 project in 2017 when they released a title and a b-side each month for the full year!
I do agree that Sing Me is meh Its not my fave from the album BUT its definitely made for concerts. Seeing it live and seeing Sungjin go off on that outro verse sends me chills each time.
so happy to see someone loving rapper Young K. As much as I love his rapping, I do think that him just singing now is better since having his vocals, you'd feel like it'd be a waste to not hear him sing on songs (that's what I used to feel when I watch their earlier covers because he sings so much in their covers and he shines a lot but in their songs he don't sing as much) with that said. Young K is still a great rapper and tbh, Young K is just very talented with everything especially when it has to do with his mouth/voice. Boy can sing, rap, beatbox, make really good trumphet sounds, and can imitate so many things! not to mention that he's also considered an elite trainee at jyp. Elite trainees are considered the top trainees who can lead / educate other trainees and have already been recognized before their debut hence he got so many song features and cameos before he even got to debut (There were only 5 elite trainees at JYP btw). He was also ALWAYS in the top 3 for their evaluation that one time when they had the tally for their evaluation, the top 3 trainees were given the opportunity to train with some of the best trainers in New York and Young K was able to get in that. The rest of the vocals of the group such as Wonpil, Jae, and Sungjin were also considered the best vocalists trainees during their time at jyp. Sungjin was also always in the top mainly for his singing, he was after all the main reason why Day6 happened because JYP did not want to lose his voice. Dowoon on the other hand is what really completed the group, and despite being the drummer of the group (a great one) he didn't really have to sing since his main position is to drum but he used to take vocal lessons voluntarily because he wanted to improve. And Dowoon does sing more in their later songs which I love because his deep voice truly add something to their songs. In short, Day6 members were just a bunch of talented dudes who happened to be put in a random band just because Sungjin couldn't dance and JYP did not want to lose him so they created a band entirely for him, picked out some of the best vocalists who could play instruments from the trainees, recruited a great drummer and now they're being recognized as the nation's band in Korea. It may have took a lot of time for them to finally get the recognition from the general public but it was surely a great thing for them to be recognized first as a band rather than promote on shows as an idol early in their career. Also I did not notice this before but that I wish lyric video surely did mixed up Jae and Young K's parts for almost everything lmao
One of the things you will soon learn to love with DAY6 is harmonies. They are the king of harmonies. And also Dowoon plays a big role because he’s the only low voice among all the guys. "Letting Go" is amazing and the vocals are on top!
young k plays the bass, wonpil is on they keyboard and synth, sungjin rythm guitar, dowoon plays drums (that's why you don't hear him sing very often) and jae was the lead guitarist (before leaving the company and the group in january 2022) as for the rap parts, there are still some scattered in their songs following this ep but a lot less than what you've heard so far. tbh it was kind of a shame that youngk didn't sing as much in their early works considering his amazing voice control, he is a good rapper but an extraordinary vocalist as you'll hear in their future works some brief context before getting into the next two albums sunrise and moonrise : in 2017, day6 had a project called the everyday6 project where they would release 2 songs each month for the whole year, they then combined the songs from the first half of the year into the album sunrise and then the second half in moonrise, that's why you'll see that many of the songs from these two albums have music videos, feel free to check them out
I wish is a hit for sure, it's probably the only song from this album that's still in their setlist in 2024 the lyrics video for I wish confused a lot of jae's and young k's parts with each other, but we work with what we have 😢 and yeah, jae and sungjin are on guitars, wonpil is on keyboard, young k plays bass and dowoon plays drums 🥁
I really hope after your day6 journey (or sometime during) you check out the Killing Voice! It's so fun to watch them work and sing live, i hope to see a reaction by you either here or on KPapis!! ❤
Dowoon plays the drums, which is why he never really sings in the lyric vids (hes working on his singing and he says he'll sing more in the future) Young K is on Bass, Sungjin is the Guitarist, Wonpil is Keyboard and Synth Jae was also a Guitarist, but has left the group as of 2020(?) For reasons that he didnt like jyp and didnt want a working relationship with them anymore. As far as im aware theres no bad blood between him and the other members
seeing that you are a newfound kband lover with your reactions to xdinary heroes, rolling quartz and now discovering day6 makes me so happy, it's such an underapreciated part of the industry, and they have some of the best vocalists ever. I can't wait to see your reactions on discovering more amazing bands like n.flying, onewe, cnblue, ft.island, lucy... etc
The thing with DAY6 is that they get better with every release, 'The Day' and 'Daydream' are amazing mini albums but what comes next is really wow... I already subscribed and I'll be watching this DAY6 journey with you and I hope you enjoy it. ♥
Thanks for the reaction! I can’t wait for the Sunrise and Moonrise album reactions been a fan since 2017 and majority of the songs from my top 10 fave Day6 songs came from this era~
**See some have already mentioned who plays what in the comments** I love seeing you enjoy Day6 🥰 And yeah, sadly Young K mainly focuses on singing now, but boy has he improved so much, like they all have. They all sound amazing in these eps but the way they sound now? Holy crap! They do have a killing voice if you ever want to watch it on here or in your own personal time ✨ I believe whats next is the project they had, “Every DAY6” you can literally go in order, they released 2 songs a month in 2017 ✨ The songs themselves too though are in the albums SUNRISE and MOONRISE 🙇🏻♂️ I can’t wait for you to listen to my all time favorite song! ✨ I Need Somebody ✨
yes!!! more day6 reactions!!! im so happy you loved wish because it's actually my favorite day6 song ever!!! (nice to see others in the comments agreeing) and i agree with you, everything about it it just amazing and this album is so special to me. although im a fairly new myday, i can't wait for you to react to them more! their discography is truly so special to me and i love when people listen to them too🩷 (also not sure if you're interested but when you get up to it can you check out some of their japanese songs? trust they're soooo good, i think you will like breaking down and stop the rain^^)
i feel like with every album and song they discoveered their sound and what they like, so for me, even if i like their first albums, as they grow their music is more rounded and complete to me
