    Loved it! Really picked me up on a grey morning with all this bad news. Smallest I’ve crossed was on Seadream II, so I fully get how magical those days in mid Atlantic are. Nice one! 👍😎

      I was always surprised just how flat calm it can sometimes get out in the ocean. We traditionally stopped for a halfway swim at the midpoint.

    Great fun video! I'm a sailor so watching a super yacht cross the atlantic is like a vegan sneaking in a big mac! Looks like you guys had a blast! But wow does that ship ever plough the water....super nose heavy! The waterline looked a bit better upon arrival, perhaps something to do with the weight distribution og all that diesel?

      its not an exploration yacht , with a flared high bow. more of a dock queen.
      wouldn't want to tackle heavy seas with it, want a bering for that

      Yeah I noticed that, thinking it was nose heavy..

    • @InvisibleIncStudio
      @InvisibleIncStudio  2 роки тому +2

      Fuel tanks go right up to the bow pretty much, so when full for an extended crossing, she does tend to plough. We drain those ones first though, so it’s gets a little better underway.

    I am in agreement with the other comments. Well done video and very interesting but I would have liked if you had some interaction. Tell us how the crew deals with days on the open seas. Introducing the crew and their rolls. How long it takes, how much fuel is used, the average knots you ran, and over all yacht life during this crossing.

    This is a very good video but guys please next time add more details like how long it took, how many pax it can take, the cost of sailing mainly in terms of cliet payments, can the payment be split amongst a group, what's the menu on the water way, do you cook on your own, how is the weather like in the atlantic, how does it feel for first timers, how do you go about the laundry etc. I don't see this as a waste of time unlike the first comment states all i can say is use the 14 minutes adequately on your next yatching video, thanks guys 👏👍

    • @InvisibleIncStudio
      @InvisibleIncStudio  Рік тому +1

      😂 Owners don’t make their own vids- a crew member might collect some of the guest footage and add it to crew-captured footage from drones/go-pros etc then edit it into a holiday video for the guests.
      Not sure what you mean by “real details”?
      FYI- crew do have fun, we’re only working 8hrs a day so there’s plenty of time to fill on a delivery/crossing.

      It’s my job. And don’t ever offer to work for free for a superyacht- they’re not short of cash.
      You might get passage on a smaller, privately owned yacht in exchange for crewing/cooking etc. Try some sailboat forums maybe?

    • @InvisibleIncStudio
      @InvisibleIncStudio  3 роки тому

      Dude- any answer i give you will be completely irrelevant as your consumption will depend on size, number and fuel efficiency of your main engines and generator(s), type and displacement of your hull etc etc
      You’d beed to work out your own fuel consumption on some shorter trips and go from there.

      @toddblack8029 It's funny you should say that! Exactly one year later on the same route, we lost function of both main engines 3 days out from Gran Canaria. A tug was dispatched from the Canary Islands but would take 5 days to reach us. The Chief Eng an d I had a stressful 36hrs fault finding and ended up making one of the engines function using parts from both. We turned around and met the tug which shadowed us back to port.

      We are the crew. The boat is our home for most of the year so it’s unreasonable to expect us not to use the gym and hot tub when there are no guests on board. Besides, it’s usually better to keep equipment in regular use, than mothball it for months at a time.

    I'll take a nice smaller slower sailboat any day. Nice and silent, having to work for your power, having to actually sail the boat, not just sit in a luxury apartment as you cross.
    I agree, it would've been much better is you had shown the engines, talked about fuel consumption, time it takes, your speed, ANYTHING but that non stop music and the people holding their arms up like they actually did something to get across the ocean.

    • @InvisibleIncStudio
      @InvisibleIncStudio  3 роки тому +6

      As I’ve already mentioned, MisterBee- this isn’t an educational video made for your benefit.
      This is our place of work, not a free ride. I was one of the engineers on this boat and I can assure you that my days were full of maintenance and repairs on the crossing, but I’m not about to film myself servicing a generator. Much in the same way if I went on a business trip to Barcelona, I’d film the city and activities not the office work.
      Instead of complaining about what this video didn’t offer- why not put all the things you want to see when YOU sail the Atlantic in a video of your own.
      Don’t forget to include some footage of you grafting- you don’t want anyone to think you had it too easy, with the wind doing most of the work...

      but your reply just made you seem pugnacious. i really hope you are not the pugnacious type, because the easily offended and pugnacious should not work in this domain.
      i really hope you are not like that with your colleagues because it takes a special sort to do this job, qualities which are hard to find in humans these days, so it would be a shame for you to be rude because of minor misunderstandings.
      it's always good to think about the other person's point of view too, before you decide to get upset. sometimes people want to insult you, but most of the times you either misunderstood their intentions or... it's a harmless sarcastic jokes.
