No idea K. I’ve never been. Thanks for rubbing it in 🤣😭😭😭😭😭 lol I have to go next year. I have to I have to I have to. Thankfully you have so diligently produced a lovely view of what was going on. ❤.
Seeing the variety of quilts, and being amazed at the ones the judges deem "best". I like more of the non-traditional ones now, having seen such beauties. I like the ones you can sleep under without nightmares inspired by the spikey ones.
I'm considering more and more that it might be fun to enter quilts in a local show. I find visiting shows inspirational, I go home rejuvenated and ready to create, I get ideas from other creator's colour choices and original designs and I love having a variety of vendors in one place. I get more out of watching creators who choose colour, technique and design far different than me rather than ones that match my aesthetic. You just popped up in my feed so I'll start following.❤
I love attending quilt shows! They always provide a lot of inspiration! I had the distinct pleasure of attending Missouri Star’s Birthday Bash a few weeks ago! Jenny, Natalie and Misty are just as pleasant in person as they are on camera! I came away with a renewed appreciation for the whole quilting process and what that creative energy brings to me! Thank you for sharing your experience! I truly appreciate it!❤
Hi Kristen, just watched this video on my TV in my sewing room and absolutely loved everything in it. Especially of course the beautiful gallery of quilts that you so generously shared with us. Just absolutely freaking amazing. It’s truly inspiring how people are so creative and so talented even down to the children and their beautiful quilts. It’s just wonderful. I cannot wait to show my niece who is now 10 and is starting to sew. I believe that she will really love seeing what her generation is creationing. So thanks again. I love your channel. I look forward to watching what you bring to us every time. You always make my day a lot more enjoyable and fun while I’m sitting here sewing and watching you at the same time! Regards from Arizona🌵🌞
I saw my cousin Pippa Moss’s Hawaiian quilts in your video! It was great to see so many creative geniuses! I live in Houston, Texas, USA, and go to the International Quilt Show most every year. I’m thinking I might come to this one next year. 🤔
Congrats on entering! Love how you produced this video. I get dizzy when people walk the show and twirl all over the place. A lot of very cool quilts. Love seeing artisans from around the world.❤Thanks! PS. Loved seeing a Dear Jane! I am working on one!
I’ve always known I wanted to make a quilt but I didn’t want formal traditional teaching. Eventually I found Jenny Doan online and that made me realise there are actually very few rules in quilting. Jenny is quite right - our brains do work differently. I’m currently on my15th quilt and my first improv quilt. Now that has challenged my brain and spun me into a wonderful problem solving mode. I would never ever enter my work in a show but I’m happy and proud to give them to my family. My mind always races ahead and I have a frightening number of ideas
13:08 squares behind the embroiderer. O MY !!!!! I liked SO many!!! Astounded by the 3 to 9 category work. Local quilt shop had a BIG bin of 'cabbages'. I filled a big basket with tiny rolls like this. LOVE SCRAP QUILTS !!!! Sweet to know I'm not alone )) Bins and Bins of scrap bits make me very happy.
What a wonderful video of the show and your experience there. I've watched many, but you were able to show quilts I didn't see elsewhere. I did mute and slow down so I could oooh and aaaah longer over the detail. Thank you! 😊
Thanks for taking us on your international journey! What a treat to know that you could submit a quilt whether you are an experienced quilter or just a beginner whose quilt may not have fit in a specific category! Blessings to you!
Thank you for sharing, loved seeing all the quilts, your two person quilt with Tom, beautiful. And thanks for sharing your purchases, I too enjoy scrap bags so much more than charm packs or layer cakes.
Thank you so much for taking the time to photograph the quilts to show us. I have enjoyed it so much. I am so like you in buying scraps. I just love them.
Fabulous video! Thank you! I'll be checking this out for months. I'm not so familiar with this show. Really appreciate the info. wow look at all the talent and creativity❤
I love seeing other peoples photos of quilt shows. I was there all day on Thursday and went round the quilts a few times but you still had photo's of some that I don't remember seeing. I had to go find yours with Tom; it looked so different in the videos so I missed it the first time round.
Ty for sharing this with me. It’s amazing that so many people from all over the world are sharing their gift of creativity and that several channels have also been drawn to the same quilts. Great video ❤it
Thanks for showing us these beautiful images. The Amy Winehouse quilt was stunning, wasn't it? I think you showed amazing restraint with your purchases! ❤👍from Somerset
Well done, Kristen! Love your quilts and the video. Thanks for sharing! Can't wait to hear more details about the Can you Change Your spots on your channel!
Thank you for a great video those quilts were amazing and also nice to know that anyone could exhibit a quilt. I didn't know this was a yearly thing so hope to go next year😊
I recognized the Jam and Jerusalem quilt from another UA-cam channel. My grandson was amazed by the Elephant quilt. (He doesn't know I have the FPP pattern for that one to make him soon.) Thanks for sharing.
Chris English did a couple of videos with Kate Jackson on her channel The Last Homely House. Great channel. Chris showed Kate how he chooses fabrics and constructs his quilts.
I was lucky enough to go this year and meeting Jenny and her family was wonderful, I learned so much from her trunk show, such a down to earth lady. The quilts this year were amazing such talented people and I did see yours aswell.
It was lovely to meet you. My friend laughed so much as nearly all the fabric I bought was scrap bags. I got 3 of those Moda scrap bags as I’ve made some great quilts from those before and there are not many places you can get a jelly roll for £15. Sew Motion had great scrap bags 400g of fabric for £12, lovely selection of colours and a Steve Hilliard scrap bag full of lovely blues. More than I intended to spend but I had a great couple of days
😂 at least I wasn’t the only one buying the scraps! I somehow just don’t get drawn to the other fabric the same way… we must be wired differently! Hope we run into each other again next year!
Great vlog!. Loved your take...ive watched 2 others. Not a quilter. Such artistry. Recognized your 2 person with cbqer, its kinda so u! Also the , oops forgot yhe name but my fave ? Your orange peel!
I mut have missed so much of FoQ. Doing it all in one day is near impossible. I did, however, see your spotty quilt from a distance and despite not having seen it before, I knew it was yours! You have a very distinctive style. Well done on submitting three (and a bit) quilts. My only contribution was one of the blocks for #teambearpaw24.
Thanks for sharing. Nice quilts. Oh and the Amy Winehouse quilt is awesome, isn't it? I love your orange peel quilt. I like the happy accident. Thanks for sharing.
I absolutely LOVE your “Happy Accident”. I would love to happen into you in public one day. Don’t see the happening unless you’re in the States next time you come to Canada or I happen to be in Canada next time you come back over for a visit. Guess I’ll have to actually get a passport now. I have the correct drivers license to get around in the states (I actually got something done and not panicking last min🤣🤣). I will be sure to check out the newsletter. I had seen that something had came today. Ohhh and I will be sending you a special email with the next week!! May want an ambulance on standby. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Kristin I love all your videos and you are much more creative and skilled than you give yourself credit for! Chat SOON! XX 💙🪡🧵
Thanks Laura! Can’t wait to see what is in this email that I’ll need an ambulance for!! I’ve not been back to Canada since my Dad passed and I feel like it’s been over a decade since I’ve been to the states so not sure I’ll be heading that way soon but hopefully we can meet virtually sometime!
I saw loads of CanCon at the festival 😂! And that was just the ones with actual maple leafs on them. I’m sure there were more - mine for example - even though I’ve not lived in Canada for over 20 years now!
What's your favourite part about attending quilt shows?
No idea K. I’ve never been. Thanks for rubbing it in 🤣😭😭😭😭😭 lol
I have to go next year. I have to I have to I have to. Thankfully you have so diligently produced a lovely view of what was going on. ❤.
Yes you need to get to one! I’m sure you’d love it.

Me too with the racing mind - I’ll never be able to make all the quilts I dream up - not enough hours in a lifetime!
Great Video....thanks for posting....very creative, talented, entertaining show of quilts to see. Incredible diversity of talent and works.
Glad you enjoyed it!

I can totally recommend it - hope to see you there one year!

Isn’t it!?
Fabulous video! Thank you! I'll be checking this out for months. I'm not so familiar with this show. Really appreciate the info. wow look at all the talent and creativity❤
Side note I live a couple hours away from Missouri Star quilt Co. The Doan's story is inspiring the shops and the town are quite charming.

Joe Cunningham is awesome! I was able to take a class from him several years ago!
Hi thankyou for showing us all the quilts I love scrap buying especially liberty lawn it's just hard trying to find them now🎉
Glad you liked it! I’m sure I’ve seen folk selling liberty lawn scraps on eBay. Might be worth looking there.
The FOQ was a fantastic experience. It was my first time and I went for two days but if I went again I would go for the full 4 days.
Yes there was a lot to see!
Wonderful video❤❤❤
Thanks!
Ooh thank you so much for featuring my quilt of Blackpool Pier. ❤
Well done you! Great quilt!
Lovely!!
I’m impressed that you started quilting in 2020 and have a long arm, EQ8, and entered in this quilt show! Sounds like you found your niche.
Thanks! Feels like all those things happened gradually but I guess it really hasn’t been that long 😂!
love watching your videos
Thanks!

@PinholeQuilting thanks!

That’s a shame! Maybe next year!
What a great quilt show!
I love the fabric that is behind you on the bench. Do you know what is ?
Do you mean my wallpaper? It’s kind of a bright colours plaid? If that’s what you mean it’s from spoonflower but I don’t know the name of it anymore.
I saw 2 quilts entered by Valerie Prideau! This was nice cause she is from Canada and has recently had a book come out. Tyfs👍🩷
