- Direct Input (No mic) pickup voicing and play along comparing the Standard and Rick-o-sound outputs. Full mapping with TIMESTAMPS BELOW!
I used Direct Input on the Zoom Q8 HD camera, so I could pan the bridge pickup to the right and the neck pickup to the left. Use headphones for best effect of course.

This is pretty cool man, thanks for demonstrating rickosound in a stereo setup, people only seem to show it as a dual mono, bi-amp sort of sound. I don't understand why people don't like stereo basses, they give you a perfectly mono compatible source that sounds way fuller.
Thanks man, it's a bit tedious to setup but once it's done you're ON!
@@NXPBass Have you ever modded another bass to be stereo? (Jazz bass, thunderbird, exc) I'm just curious how other instruments sound in stereo, and if the closer pickups of many basses narrows the stereo field. I don't think it would, so long as the two pickups sound different, but who knows?
@@somepunkinthecomments471 im working on this right now on a voila bass
@@sturgoncomp07 Interesting, I'd love to hear how it sounds.
wow! great recording with paranoid, sounded perfect, and mega thumbs up on the darkglass
Thanks Ian!
NXP Bass gave you a sub too! I think you would highly enjoy the darkglass vintage series, I have a deluxe V3 and it’s the basis of my time and is always on, sounds sweeet
Damn fine video sir! Always a pleasure to see ya play ….Especially Black Sabbath!!
Thank you sir!
Well done!!
Thanks Mauro!
Nice Demo the dark glass really compliments the guitar
Yes I love that pedal. I've never left it unplugged since i got it. I often use it with the distortion off, just the tone from the EQ part is great already
Sounds brilliant 👍
Sick man!
Cheers William!
I'm so happy to see someone making a video using the Ric-o-sound jack. I use mine ALWAYS!!! And no one ever goes into it absolutely magical sounds. There are so many incredible things you can do with it. Also NO ONE ever goes into the pedals that can accommodate this particular set up. I know that the Billy Sheehan pedal and the source audio stereo eq work great with this, but still no one makes videos on that. I'd live toss more stereo basses being used and new ideas and pedals on this subject, I think more people would see the true beauty in what they had no idea was "the rest of what Ric and other stereo basses" can do. Thank you so much for this video. And PLEASE where did you get you cable?? I have only been using the Hoza stereo ring/tip cord. I want something more durable like a "regular" bass cable.
Thanks so much for the appreciation man! The cable I use is certainly durable but not cheap. It's the Rickysounds Stereo-rama (black, right angle version)
NXP Bass where can I find one. Please and thank you
@@PushSueAside I got mine direct from Rickysounds.co.uk

NXP Bass thank you so much. I look forward more awesome content. I really appreciate you helping me. Have a great weekend.
Ah... sublime! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Go Brách! Wow!
Thank you so much Niáll!
Nice one dude!
Cheers Adam!
Wicked!
Thanks so much Rog 👍
@@NXPBass Need to get back to you sometime on the setup as to what goes where
@@rogvoyce4014 any time. I've got the setup part explained here, should help: ua-cam.com/video/lg9FrygPSt8/v-deo.html
Wait, so does that mean that if you only have a mono setup you can only play through one pickup at a time on a Rick or does it feed both through the main channel if the secondary isn’t also hooked up?
No the Standard output is the same as on any other bass. You can use the pickup selector and send both pickups through the same signal.
Rick-o-sound is a stereo output which sends the 2 signals as separate channels
You mean 'true' stereo, as opposed to RIC"s dual mono (no blend between channels),
My camera has 2 XLR inputs so it's very easy to blend them
Wicked bass but man the volume level is so low in this video (even in headphones).
It's panned mostly into the right ear so you can hear it separate from the backing tracks. There may be an issue with your headphones or device right channel or settings
