I know we are suppose to take everyone at face value in 2024 but my deductive reasoning tells me it’s more to the story than just $600. Maybe it’s $600 a month and the student don’t keep programming and there aren’t many listener so that stopped paying it, or a number of reasons I can hypothesize. Someone should take an hour to talk to folks and see what the issue is then help with absolution.

The young lady at 19 that wants to get married but is going to the military has a VERY common story. Most of us that have enlisted have this very story. If you get married before you go, you'll probably resent each other within the year because you'll both miss out on so much life. If she deploys with you, she'll be removed from everyone she knows and you'll be the only person she can actually talk to. If she stays behind, she'll resent you for leaving. You'll see each other for about a week or so every 3 to 6 months and that will not work. The diverse rate in the military is much higher than the civilian world for that very reason. Take your time, and see if you still feel the way you do about each other after the inevitable time apart you're going to go through.

Standing in Clark University saying that you are about to join the military is beyond crazy! Thats coming from a retired combat veteran with a Masters & Bach! There are multiple government agencies that will pay back student loans!!! Please don't let that be the reason you are considering the military, this should be a last resort option, especially if you have a degree! If you are willing to join the military, then you are willing to find a job anywhere!

What that first speaker probably doesn’t understand is that schools often have to pay guest speakers to come. If the school is not in the financial position to do that then that’s probably why they are not having an outside speaker coming. I don’t know the entire situation, but that is just something to consider.
It was an inappropriate argument to make. If there is nothing controversial about the speaker and he is a well regarded professor why is that an issue for them. Famous people don't always equal inspiration. Biden is a horrible choice for Morehouse too.
