I wish more music like this would be popularized... music that evolves and changes and doesn’t rely on gimmicky chorus phrases.

This is gothic music
Through Composed is a term that might apply here. A composition with no repeating or recurring parts/sections, essentially. From one section to the next. Like this song! I too wish more artists took this approach. It's very uncommon and considered very unconventional; even unusual or odd at times. I think this kind of composition helps convey the telling of a story through music; much like the song continues to push onward into each passage, so did we when we first entered the Cathedral in Tristram, descending lower and lower to inevitably face the Lord of Terror.

Listened to this at least 5 times now and it's absolutely one of the best pieces ever written for a game. All of my Philip's Hue are set to Red. Diablo Rojo.

You are in almost every comment answer I read, spreading your entitlement. I agree, if it is your sheet and he hasn’t decoded it hinself then you should be credited - though you did make it public so you could call this a ‘cover’ of your ‘work’, hell you haven’t even composed it.
Honestly man, be grateful that a professional like Vinhetiro is playing your sheet, and is doing so (almost, if not completely) flawlessly.
And btw, it’s because he is playing it so well he has more views than you, this is the best piano version of Tristram theme out there. This feels like watching that scene from Mozart where the royal composer wrote a march - and mozart plainly played it better with surplus energy to play with it.
He is also filming his fingerplay which is both very visible and aesthetic pleasing, instead of splitscreening or the like.
Just be grateful that he is spreading the word that you have written a beautiful deciphering of the song and is making amatuers love you for it… that is, after all, why you have made it freely available i pressume?

@@peterkrygersrensen1283 I wonder in what way is Vinhetiro a professional pianist and what makes you think I am not? Putting aside the lack of crediting me, I don't agree that Vinhetiro's performance is better than mine. He played some wrong chords and in my opinion didn't do the ambient effects as well as I did. That is not to say of course that he didn't perform some parts better than I did, just that I don't agree it was better overall (though of course it is subjective).
And I hate to get into this but now that you bring it up, that scene from Mozart relies on public ignorance of what musicians generally can and can't do. The skill set being portrayed in the Amadeus scene is actually a hard requirement of all jazz musicians, just applied to a different genre. Speaking of which, I don't think Vinhetiro even has this skill set of playing things by ear, and I do happen to have this ability, so I think it's not a great analogy.
If you want an example of a pianist who is truly skilled, go to my Star Wars page, then click on the description, where there's a link to the original performance. That's an example of someone who's quite clearly technically my superior, at least in terms of technical skill on the piano. Take a listen to see/hear what I mean and you may start to gain an understanding of how to judge whether someone is really good.

My message’s intent was to say that I think you should be glad that people is playing what you have deciphered (can’t remember the right term right now). And I understand you want to be credited - but a little less passive aggressive tone in your comments would suit you - especially as you haven’t composed it, what you DID do was converting it to piano!.
I am not trying to demean you - I too ‘own’ a sheet of your ‘Diablo II Tristram’ sheet and I love it.
Your version is good too, I think I have read too many of your comments that day and got tired of the tone in them. As you said yourself, it’s subjective and I happen to like Vinheteiro’s version more… I have also seen many who discovers you (in the comments) after having come here - and they like YOUR version better.
So in a way is this giving you views (which you cared about in one of your comments).

How can anyone put a dislike on this?.... this is Beautifully played... so what its on a Piano and not an Accustic Guitar... if played right I think the Tristrum from Diablo theme can sound amazing on most intruments.

I didn't press dislike, but I just stumbled across this video and realized this guy used my exact arrangement verbatim without crediting me anywhere, as if implying it was his arrangement.

@@AngryVikingBiker Yes, it is pretty obvious, not just the sheet music sitting on the piano but more importantly the notes are verbatim the same as what I wrote despite the guitar-to-piano translation having lots of room for interpretation. You can verify for yourself if you want.
