This is fantastic Andy. Thank you. I used to attend Willingsworth high school, which was on Bilston Road & backed onto the canal & railway, now tram, line. The line was semi disused & crossed the canal on the blue over bridge. It wasn’t blue then, but filthy black & we used to have rope swings on it. I see the lock under the bridge has been filled in. It was derelict when I knew it, but still had about a foot or so of water trickling through it. We also used to play on the ‘Sanna’ pools. Named that as it used to be the TB sanatorium up until the 1980s. We also fished in the Rocket Pool. I see it’s always been there. I’ve been unable to find any info on it, why it’s there, is it natural or man made, nothing! Thanks again. I very much enjoy your videos.
I have made very few over the summer - its very much a winter project. You will laugh when I get to episode five - all wrapped up in my beany hat on account of the sub zero tempratures!
Andy, a great series of videos a very enjoyable watch. With some lovely aerial drone footage. Are you flying with CAA class A1 - A3 or class A2 drone code?
Its the sub 250g DJI Mini 2 - surprisingly good results for such a light drone. its weakness is instability in winds over 15 mph but I just pick my days.
Beautifully edited. It would be good to see this stretch restored, it would make for a more interesting alternative run than the New Main Line.
Many thanks Andy love the way you set the scene with the old photos. Take care.
Thanks for making this video. Really shows how possible this restoration could be. Shame that Top Lock Cottage has gone.
