There's no legal requirement to be read these rights because you've been arrested. The only time that's required is when you're detained AND interrogated (i.e. specific questions that could incriminate you). Being read Miranda rights immediately upon being simply arrested is a common misunderstanding. Also, he's a parolee in a criminal punishing state who was found with dope and a gun.... he can get time no matter what. The questioning isn't because there's no evidence, it's simply to stick the evidence they have. The only reason he got cut loose is because the investigators fucked up and didn't immediately cease questioning when a lawyer was requested. That is a violation of Miranda rights and is always grounds for immediate and unquestioned drop of charges. Not so much h the criminal bein smart, more so the investigators simply fucked up by continuing questioning when the lawyer was requested.
i watched a video as to why to not talk to cops from a law teacher. all caps cause its important: anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law BUT ANYTHING THAT CAN HELP YOU WILL BE DISMISSED AS HEARSAY. Always ask for a lawyer.
Yes its very true....they may have some circumstantial evidence that could lead to you but talking to them could make an innocent person look guilty....very smart ask for drugs before an interrogation so your under the influence while you do speak...thats next level iq
What a G. Y'all ever see that clip of a suspect that had been shot in the head or face (don't remember which) and he told that to the cops during his interrogation, but they didn't believe him?
Respect to jeff ,only this incident put him on the road to sorting his life out ,,it is clear jeff is more than just a drug user .prayers go out to jeff.🙏
You should check out the one where they interogate a guy that was shot in the head, and had a bullet in the head the whole interrogation., Case of ryan waller.
Rule #1: don't say a mthrfkn word! 99% of the time if they have evidence to convict u, they will not b interrogating u. If they interrogate u that means they ain't got jack shit so just keep ur mouth shut and ull walk
In Canada. It's referred to as retaining your Sec. 7 (s.s.11, under the Charter, and is also contained in the Canadian Evidence Act). Unlike the States, where "you have the right not to incriminate yourself." In Canada, "you have the right to say nothing."
@xtheshredderxx5473 This is contained within what is known as "a caution" in Canada, as well as the "protections under the Charter." The protections offered in the Canadian Pretrial Act give you the right "to say nothing." As the Calgary Police Service found out at the end of the botched hit and run case. Had the police respected this man's right to representation, at no cost, and without delay. They definitely would have got a conviction instead of a reprimand from the judge.
Props to that dude for turning his life around
Dude is a G!

The police officer at 14:00 sounds like the guy who said "Your not that guy pal".
