I think that painting the mineral for enhancing its look is definitely thinking outside the box. Never in my memory have I seen that before. On the subject of gluing broken specimens, I've also glued apatite crystals with superglue, the smell takes about two weeks to go away, though it does the job well and doesn't react with the apatite. Wondering what glue is clear and is better than superglue because I believe superglue is not totally transparent for really serious specimens?
