Thank you for bringing us along for this and hanging out late to show us pit stops and the tire booth. It was great to see all the behind the scenes. Keep up the great work.
Been going to Petit off and on for about 15 years - so many great memories! One of my favorites was always watching the rotors glow at night as the cars braked into Turn 6. Spent a lot of time at Road Atlanta over the years for NASA track days, the Mitty historic races, and other cool stuff. Thanks for your coverage - well done!
What absolutely incredible sounds!!! Looks a spectacular day, and definitely well worth the time. Thanks for putting so much in the video, loved every second.
Petite is a great race. Love the track, great people. You need to go to the 24 Hours at Daytona. Same great cars, same awesome teams, but 24 hours of racing. I generally fly in on the Wednesday, catch all the classes, practices, qualifying, and the under-card races. Super Trofeo, 911 GT3 Cup, Pilot Sport Challenge. All of them. There is nothing like watching the cars run within seconds of their qualifying laps at 3 in the morning. Absolutely unreal. Glad you had a good time, looking forward to seeing you at more IMSA races.
Those Mazda DP1s are so beautiful. Also hearing John Hindhaugh of Radio LeMans voice in the background during the race is awesome. That man has one of the best voices in race broadcasting. I can listen to him call any race. Hell I'd watch a NASCRAP race just to hear his call.
@@WatchJRGo I'm just saying JR...that red Lamborghini would make Amber a good Valentine's Day present! pretend you didn't get her a present and have it in the driveway and get her to get something and ka- chow! just being a wing man your welcome!
Great video showing the parts it takes to race those finely tuned beasts. Ever think of trying endurance racing? With your clout, you could pull some great support and think of the content. There's the budget CHUMP and 24hrs of Lemons, then out west NASA's Western Endurance Racing Championship that I've had the pleasure of competing in when I was stationed out there. I'd love to try off-road like ULTRA4 next though.
Great video of the behind the scenes. I have been a sports car racing fan all of my life and have been to several races, but never had the experience that you got through Motul! Great fun watching you discover the joys of the racing paddock and hot pits! Keep up the good work. Your next trip should be down to Austin and Circuit of the Americas for the F1 race. It would be a spectacular weekend of video.
I'll definitely watch you exo set a Miata. Because you can potentially do that with other cars as well. That would be a lengthy series. I'll enjoy it!!
JR, you inspire me to maybe go back to a race again. I haven't been since the first time Indy Car came to Barber in 2010 and Zoom Motorsports mishandled transportation to remote parking post race I was waiting in line 3 hours with a tired 4 year old. I was so disgusted it soured me on motorsports in general.
I think the only view that tops the roof top view is the Ferris wheel at the 24 hour Le Mans, that’s a epic view, especially at night. But you only get it for a minute or so at a time while going round 😂
you cant replace Gabe with Jacob. Also you are way more committed to the vlog than I could ever be. There is no part of me that could pick up my jaw up off the ground like a virgin going to the strip club for the first time and go oh...... i need to record this.
I probably wouldn't watch the Miata Exocet build if it was more than a couple of videos. I'd definitely watch a budget rally or drift car build though!
@@WatchJRGo Maybe like a narrative to go with the build? Like I'm going to build this to partake in a particular event (e.g. an off-road race or rally for example) and I'm going to do it in this time frame.
I've heard it's so consistently loud that we wouldn't be able to hold a conversation if I try to go behind the scenes like this... I can get into the pits but it might be pointless 😬
You'd be automatically f1 Mazda representing....well.....less several thousand rpm...😏😳😂😉....but way fun....although the Miata is top level in itself.....😎....maybe the mustang had a sohc...??😬😉
I made the trip to Road America and a Ford GT 1-2 finish. Not a better place to watch a race IMO. Ford will not be back next year (GTLM) as the CGR factory GT teams have been cut for next season. Have not heard on if there are any independent teams filing the void as of yet.
Road America is cool but all 90 degree corners except the carousel. Canada Corner is great, the top of Fireman's Hill is a great place for pictures. However, if you are walking, Mid Ohio is much more fan friendly. You can't beat natural terrain road courses.
Not sure if you were filming this with a gopro or what but you can't see anything in this... Gonna need a real camera with a nice lens on it to actually get decent footage.
I have that 'getting run over' feeling at every DE I do. My stock CS with stock brakes and street tires is a knife at a gun fight compared to the race cars in my run group. But it's still fun. You have to watch your mirrors like a hawk. I run Motul brake fluid - never any problems.
I was so excited about the badges I had to say it twice 😂

I have listened to so many of them. Thanks for helping a brother out👏

I love the fact you could film this for those of us who have never been to a race. I have seen a lot of races on tv but nothing like this.
Always enjoy watching you fix stuff, but this was an awesome video as well. Thanks for sharing!

1 Time At Band Camp.....
You have got to come to Sebring this year. Imsa has the 12 hrs and WEC has an 8 hr night race. Constant cars on track for 4 days.
I’ll wear my New Balance next time like a proper Vette owner.

If I got to go to the IMSA races with Watch JR Goes and Mikes I would pack up the Hash Pipe with Rocky and get all schmoked up.
Cool, you should see IMSA at Sebring, Rolex 24 at Daytona, or up at Road America in Elkhart lake.
Anybody else remember when IMSA cars were beautiful?
Yup. I live 6 miles from Barber Motorsports and went to the first Porsche 250 Daytona Prototype race held there. All the way back in 2003.
Dammit! I knew I saw you there! And I had a S60R to sell you! 😂
Should've said hi! I'm always down to check out another R 💯

WAY COOL!
For the Exocet do you just need an engine or all the running gear from your Miata?
39 mins!? nice
Awesome!

No to excet thingy. Keep doing what you do please!
On today's episode of WatchJRGo, we go for a milkshake. ANYTHING to avoid working on the R8.
Best weekend in racing. Almost as much fun is historics weekend - the place is just sick with historic race cars.
With the noise, I needed you closer to the MIC
I think you taking apart the Miata would would be awesome, but would you drive it?
yeah..IMSA has been running Porsche Cayenne for a long long time..LOL ( not only in Petit LeMans)

Unfortunately there is a local effort to close the track due to noise, I live a 1/4 mile from it.
I hope that doesn't happen, it's a super nice track! 🏎
Then move away from the track! That’s like moving near the airport and complaining about the air traffic.

Why can't my minivan look like that?
I have watched IMSA racing on TV but the audio is always low. It's so weird to hear 4 different exhaust notes (4 classes) during the same race.
RIGHT?! You can never tell the difference on TV, I think the audio really worked out here 💯
