So true, personally I could never get caught up in the whole team spirit concept. Hard as I tried it just wasn’t in me. Lifting and working out was the only physical pursuit I ever truly enjoyed.

It’s difficult to admit that one doesn’t like playing team sports. I never did, but I played them until I discovered lifting in high school.

When I was little I wanted to be like Popeye. Asked mom for spinach and would gag the vile slimy canned stuff down then secretly check my biceps for battleships. Looking back I realize now I had an itch that remained unscratched. Years pass, careers and family absorb all attention. Finally at age 50, overweight and couldn’t walk up stairs without getting out of breath I walked into a gym for the first time. Knew absolutely nothing. But realized I loved lifting. And I loved working hard and I loved the challenges. Wondered what was wrong with me. Why so driven? Why so weird when other grandmas are knitting baby clothes and baking cookies, I’m working on squat and deadlift form and increasing numbers. Now I know! Thank you JM! I’m a misfit. And happy to say so! BTW I love your training vids, JM! Like to watch before training, gets me all razzed up. 😬

One of the reasons we lost in high school football was the fact that we were a small school slotted into the division above us. We always played bigger schools with more guys. We all played both offense and defense, never leaving the field. I liked all of our coaches. ...And I think it was Louie who used to say, "Normal people give you normal results."

Ive been stuck at 190-210 for over a year. Couldnt eat enough no matter how hard. Id give up forna week and then get back to it cause i HAVE to get huge. I finally figured out to utilize cardio in an off season still and fiber and a few better food choices and was able to add 1000 calories a day to my diet. Decided i dont give a shit how much i have to force down. And a few weeks in I'm finally getting kinda used to it and its so damn exciting. You just gotta put in the work. Force urself to do these big things till u get used to them then go harder as soon as you get comfortable. Fool proof..you can literally force your body to do whatever u want thru knowledge and stubborness. Amazing stuff. Powerlifting has changed my life and how i look at everything

It was interesting hearing JM talk about the Bible. Some of the stuff he talks about in other videos seems more like Eastern Mysticism. I would be interested in hearing more about his philosophies and religious beliefs. It would also be interesting to hear Dave’s beliefs too.

@Randy Tongue That is the freakmason mafia gang belief. Mix in everything because you are god. These two are both freakmasonjihadist and traitors of our Almighty Creator, which btw, has nothing to do with any religion nor freakmasonry whatsoever. And these people are supposed to have secret knowledge.. Oh, the irony!

Early Christianity had a lot of mysticism. So do many modern churches. My pastor is comfortable saying, we don’t really know. It’s only the Bible thumpers who insist on black and white literal answers to everything.

@thesimpleman4139 I review comments on occasion. Yours interests me. I can genuinely say that I don't know what you are speaking about here. Are you willing to explain this to me? I surmise that you are taking issue with something. But I am unclear in what that is. Can you elaborate as opposed to attacking it?

@@disneymom737 he didn't mention which sports... Marching band, majorette and cheerleading. Then he was tired of Greg Doucette's annoying voice, so he started powerlifting...

@@disneymom737 Reviweing comments occasionally, I can elaborate for you: the three sports that I lettered in at an NCAA division 1 school were, cheerleading (where I was an Acedemic All-American athlete), Soccer, and Track and Field. I got my scholarship money from cheerleading. I was from a poor family and incredibly grateful for the money and opportunity to attend school and educate myself. I also got a scholarship for my graduate studies including the PhD work. I tried to make the most of the chance I was given by learning as much as my little agile mind was able to. I'm unclear as to what you are referring to as covering up. But, I will point out that I do my utmost to pass what they taught me in school to others. Whatever use my education has been to me, I give it to you and anyone who listens to see what they can make of it. I did ok for myself. Take what you can use. It's all I have to offer.
