How To Fix Weak Or No Video Transmission Problem - DJI Phantom

    I had the weak/no/poor video transmission problem on my P3S that many people are suffering with. I reinstalled the firmware numerous times to no avial but on the last time I noticed a small message on the flight screen in DJI Go that tells you to let the aircraft upgrade despite the main screen on the app saying it has completed its upgrade.
    This worked for me, hope it works for you.

    It worked like a charm. Had the same poor video problems, as soon as I updated the firmware and restarted the problem was gone. Thank You very much!

    Check your gimbal cables! Took my three monthes to realised that has nothing to do with the latest
    firmware, Android app or even Apple app update. Just a lose connection
    or breakage in the gimbal cables. You will notice when the aircraft
    air-brake or fast dropping attitude which could trigger the camera
    gimbal stopping transmission images while the video still recording
    without any issues.
    Even since I discovered that, I have spent $13 for a set of new cables on eBay. Now I am a happy man.

      hey this may seem like a stupid question but i inspected my gimbal ribbon cable and i noticed where it connects to the camera its self it looks like the ribbon cable split apart from each other is it supposed to be split or together

    this video is not really clear when mine is upgrading I'm not on the camera screen it just shows the persentage upto 20% then states at the bottom in blue finished then when you click finished it says restart rc and drone. then I go into app with the flying screen and video so at what point do you leave for a further half hour is it when it states finished and you restart or do you not restart and leave. or do you restart get ready to fly then leave for half hour

    I also had weak transmission until I turned OFF the low battery mode on my iPhone 6 Plus. I hope this helps others too..

    I fixed my issue with this as soon as I took my drone outside and it had good connection to the satellites. I wasn’t able to test or get any signal while inside. I also updated the firmware which could’ve helped

    Exactly what happened to my 3 pro. Very disapointed as i love flying this drone and soend a grand on it. Ive tried reinstalling, updating, everything i can think of. Im lost.

    I feel your pain with doing updates for any device/software.
    As much as it sounds to be a good idea to do FW updates, sometimes it's better to leave well alone - if it's working don't fix it.
    Damned if you do, damned if you don't really. You got to have @alot@ of patience as well for the process to FULLY complete.
    Any more thoughts on #airbornerepeater ?

      Airborne repeater, I might shelve that idea for now haha

      I brought it up to the mountains this weekend and when I turned everything on it just kept beeping and the app kept switching between "Safe to Fly" and "Upgrade Firmware". I let it sit there for about 2 hours until my phone finally died. I am back home now and I put the SD card in my computer and it still shows the 1.5.7 bin on there so I am going to format the SD card and try the upgrade again.

    thanks for the video, i was in a panic turned on my P3 standard and the message on the app was NO IMAGE TRANSMISSION. The steps in this video helped>>> Thanks a million.

    Thanks I have been having this problem, I wasted 75 quid sending mine back to the shop and the shop said mine was not faulty. It does seem ok again since it came back. I think they did check the firmware before they flight tested it.

      Ringway Manchester I can confirm the Litchi app will not help with this problem, I tried both apps when I was having problems. I would recommend the Litchi app if your phantom is working fine through, it has some great features that the DJI go app cannot do.

      Yeah I downloaded Litchi mate but not had much chance to try it yet. Will have a look at it :)

      I like the way you can program the waypoint missions on a computer at home then just load em up in the field and just press go. A good thing about the WP mission is that it just continues the mission if you lose the signal, it don't RTL. So you can send her on good long distance out if ya want just program the last waypoint to be real close to the 1st (alway program the 1st right above you) . As she comes back into range you get the video signal back. You can program in a few actions too like start/stop rec, rotate, move cam hover for set amount of time and stuff it is great tbh.

      P3C_FW_V01.05.0070.bin is what I rolled back to, then upgraded to 1.6.8 :)

      In my case i tried flashing from 1.5.7 to 1.6.8.
      Firmware was already downloaded to my iPhone cause the flashing was quick around 3-4 mins. The app said it was completed but i left it for 30 mins untouched. Hope it works!

      The bad firmware is 1.9.2 this firmware caused problems to my drone

      dji company did it to us with intention to go buy new drone from them, but they disappointed all. I did like my drone, but I will not spend a penny towards dji they will do it again : /

    Hi the screen where you are saying it's still updating is that the camera screen when it says safe to fly or not and you can see the camera

    I have a P2V but not the plus. Like many people, the loss of video seems to be a real concern for DJI. I looked at the P3 Pro and the P4 as an upgrade but I see they are have the same problems. What's wrong at DJI?

    The bad firmware 1.9.20 disabled the micro SD card slot, and killed the image on camera for my phantom 3 standard , there is no way to upgrade/downgrade anymore, when I choose down grade, message is telling us can't locate SD card, this means we can't get to it with "dji go" or "computer". Please any other suggestions? Thanks

    I got problem with my drone... no live view on mine... I use note 5... an tried in another ones... the result in firmware 1.9.60 in the drone is famil but when I open the dji go it says this is what the version is installed. and the version in the control is 1.8...
    if I play to film in the air I can't see in the camera but when I remove the card I can the images in my pc. strange this... at app there's no error but doesn't show the live view

      Ricky Fernandez I figured out a lot... it was fisical problem... so there's was comunication withe the encoder hardware of the gimbal to aircraft

      They told me its all new one... but now I have this interference in my liveview... when I use track mode, I lost the tracking because the this interference... it sucks! and to send again I will lost more money. I think to send someone to fix it..

    By any chance you wouldn't happen to know how to fix "No internet connection" when I connect to the phantom wi-fi. They keep telling me oh it doesn't matter cause you can fly with it like that and its true but it wasn't like that when I first connected the drone to the phone. Thanks in advance.

    So which SD card ? My Standard only has SD card in the camera ... I have no SD card accessible anywhere else on the drone. All I have is a USB socket.

    Hi bro this I'm hearing all time about this issue I have a standard I'm running on all brand new firmware and app but have never had this problem so if it's firmware then how come I'm ok and others are as well I have two mates have same problem I'll let them now about this video thanks bro it must be so bad I hate not flying for one day lol never mind been grounded because of the makers can't get it right

    Ok this is what i did.. and i fligh 200meter up again and 500meters away from me..,
    Before this i could only go 50meters and signal lost..
    First i downgraded the firmware DJI wil tell you its not possible (but its no problem)
    here i dwnl the v1.5.7 its a BIN file.

    I take all my files of the sd card in the drone , and safed them in a map on my desktop for backup.
    i put the bin file on the sd card and insert it in the drone.
    I did a normal procedure to start it all up.
    first controler than phone and wifi and then the app. and then the drone.
    the drone started to make the update noice.. but nothing happend in the app.
    so after a while abouth 5min i turned the drone off (maybe wait 10 min),, and on again. then it started to make the same noice but after a while it continuously beept .(like an error happend) i was scared here LOL)
    i turned it off again .. and turned it on.. and it was finished.. the firmware was installed..
    in the app it now tells me there is a new update.. i wil never do any update again til im sure DJI fixed it..
    now i know for sure its the firmware that DJI gives us ,., that messes up the signal..
    i hope all of you wil do the same ,, and leave a messege here if it worked for you..
    so every body can learn from it..
    i wil also send DJI a strong messege... that they screwed up lots of drones.. and they need to wake up now.. and do something abouth it..
    i also calibrated the IMU and gimbal. after firmware downgrade.
    difference now is that the drone needs a warmup before flight ,, ive never seen that before.
    wait for 2 min and it is ready to fligh again.... far far away..

      My bad version firmware is 1.9.20 don't upgrade to this one, this will kill the camera and disable the micro SD slot.
