The Sylvan Beach Seafood Cafe on Bribie has uninvited visitor. From time to time you be in the middle of the cafe ordering fish and chips, you turn around and the next person in the line is a large male pelican. You can herd him out back as soon as you turn your back he’s back in. Bribie is underrated.
Bribie is a great place, I have a few friends who live there. It's close to Brisbane and close to the Sunny Coast. The bridge has been there since the 1960s and has withstood a few cyclones and storms. It can be a traffic jam in peak hour or if there is a smash on the bridge. They have been going to build a new one for years, always an election promise that then gets forgotten. I can recommend Sylvan Beach Seafood Cafe near the VMR jetty, you found Pigface Cafe (named after the local purple flower that grows in the sand dunes) at Woorim Beach on the ocean side (it says seafood but has everything) and for something a bit more up market, The Jetty at Bongaree at the southern end of Bribie on the Pumicestone Passage side where you watched the sunset. Moreton Bay is a sanctuary for Dugongs and the seagrass beds near Bribie are a good place to see them but you need a mate with a boat to get out there. Vanilla Slice (aka 'Snot Blocks') are an Aussie icon.
Love your kookaburra shirt Kody! Best vanilla slice in Queensland is from a donut shop called Crusty Devils, the line goes out the door for these slices, Brisbane.
I used to go to Bribie island every summer holidays as a kid from Sydney. Back before it became retirement island. It has a cool little book store and woorim surf beach. Scoopys ice cream cafe was always on the cards (still there i just looked on Google). Aussies always know our stuff 😅
🤗Spent my childhood holidays on 🏖️Bribe Island.🤔Back then you got 🫶a barge over to the island.💕Dad and his mate 🏠built a small house,👍that got extended 🤞over the years.🏖️During my teenage years,👍the bridge was built.😻Then we lived on the Island.🫶Because it was easy 🙏to travel for work.🤔As there wasn’t a 😥lot of jobs on the Island.😵💫Dad caught a large Groper off 🐟the bridge before they 😥banned fishing on the bridge.😵💫There’s fresh water lakes in the middle,🤔but you need a four wheel🚙 drive to access them.🤔Ducks Creek was a smelly area,😵💫but now it’s a ritzy canal estate.👍Back in the old days the pine forests 🌲on the way in were grown🌲 for making paper.💋On the drive from Brisbane💕 to the sunny coast there were 🌲pine forests all the way.💋Now you only have a few.💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋
If they are little boys don't feed your dog them as he can get Panckitis which can kill your dog...as they are made of Pork... Bad chills and throwing up... Enjoy Christmas and New Year look after puppy dog from the fireworks...very big over here in 🇦🇺 🪃 🇦🇺...😂❤😂❤
Seems you're not sick of Oz yet 👍if you ever do feel like you're getting sick of life here, go back to the UK for xmas, 2 weeks should be enough, by then you'll be itching to come back 🤣
lol, custard apples, got to Thailand, they are so cheap. love them...actually a lot of fruits you can get in Thailand are so much better than what you can get here. I found custard apples here in Perth but they was stupidly expensive give I could have got a bag of them in Thailand for the same price as one
Custard apples are readily available from fruit shops here in Brisbane, they grown locally so not too expensive and if you know someone who grows them in their garden you may not even need to buy them. most tropical fruits grow well in Brisbane and sunshine coast.

Bribie island is a great place to go on a day trip or a little holiday.
We are so lucky here in Queensland.
We’ve got so many beautiful spots here in Queensland right ❤️
My wife and I stayed at Woorim Beach last Xmas for a holiday with the dog. I did quite a lot of beach dog walking and fishing.
It’s a wonderful spot for a nice stroll that’s for sure ❤️

We had a Custard Apple tree in India. We also had Guava and Mango and some fruits that the west has not heard of.
When you visit Victoria make sure you visit Phillip Island and see the penguins.
We’ll make a note of that spot!
Such a beautiful sunset in Bribie island . Thank you !
