This show is absolutely iconic. The idea to let the old black, white, and nude colors out of fall and winter and bringing in color is genius; colours that are not bright, but bold! It's a work of art and by far Chanel's biggest year in fashion an absolute highlight.
The purses wrapped like meat packaging was brilliant...but when I heard the overhead announcement (in French of course) telling the SPECIALS just like in a real supermarket...I almost fell off my chair...MAGNIFIQUE!!!!
Karl Lagerfeld was absolutely a visionary. He could design clothes so quickly and in such huge quantities, but they were always unique and special, practically every piece. This is what makes him one of the greatest, he truly had infinite silhouettes, textures, and colors in his mind. You know he probably sat and sketched this entire collection in a couple of hours with markers, then moved on to something else, and yet they are impeccably detailed and they all have that undeniable ‘Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel’ character, nothing is diluted. This man lived for beauty and women and style, and it is visible in everything that he touched in his lifetime.
Imagine someone wearing these in a grocery store. No matter what this idea was fun, simple and unique. I personally enjoyed it a lot. And at the end when Karl and Cara came togather walking it blowed my heart.

Fashion is just like art. In fact, it IS art. However, instead of painting on canvas with impressive strokes like Monet, Karl communicates his ideas through a different medium, clothes. For those of you who might find this collection 'ugly' or not as gorgeous as other collections, there is certainly nothing wrong with such interpretations. But KEEP in mind. This is not about having a classic catwalk and models walking in beautiful garment. This is about concept. Karl is making a reflection on our contemporary society, post-modernism world. The period in which we mix up things together. For instance, he mixes classic tweed long coat with flamboyant sneakers as we're listing to such artist featuring with such artist. And obviously, he uses supermarket as a setting to imply consumerism. I think Karl deserves applause for making a reflective statement on our society with honesty and creativity; and of course a bit of humor, as always. "flies away*

Having a job where you can work for your living is the best thing there is. This is not frivolous. Its a multibillion dollar business that provides a paycheck to many.
