It's interesting that Nelson's crowd seemed so wild but so many of them survived the AIDS plague and the druggy party scene. Nelson died young, but it wasn't AIDS or drugs. And RuPaul, Musto, Lahoma, Dick Richards, Larry Tee, Lady Bunny, James. St. James and so many of the others are still going strong. It just seems...odd. How could they all have dodged so many bullets when so many others died?

It's amazing to think how all these early stars were connected and its delightful to keep seeing new videos unearthed in the 5th avenue proj. :)
