since they were actual children when they debuted (ages 14-17) their style was very much pop and catered towards a younger audience. however, now that all members have grown up they are able to show more mature music and style. personally, i'm really glad that they were able to release age appropriate music for themselves until they were older because many companies have such young idols singing very mature lyrics when they are super young so it comes off as weird. i'm glad they have matured with their music because it gives them a form of authenticity. haechan, chenle, and renjun are such great singers and their last couple of comebacks have really highlighted their individual strengths. thanks for checking them out and i'm glad you enjoyed!

i feel like the bubblegum pop is also something that defined them and set them apart. like they don’t do it as often, but in an industry these days mostly saturated by darker bg sounds, their pops of color make them stand out & it’s also a concept that comes so easily and naturally to them. they have such a blast performing candy on stage

Now it is NCT WISH who have a more bubble pop musical style since they are the youngest of NCT and their maknae is 16 but still the concept is different. Although it is pop it does not have that cute/childish air that Dream had but it is a more youthful/teenager concept.
