Not many people outside Japan know this, but the entire "Ring" franchise was based on a novel by Koji Suzuki and I've been reading the book in translation.
I can’t believe you watched it at 6 when it wasn’t a kids film. I can’t tell you how many ppl I love seen saw it before 13 years old. I want even allowed to see it at 11. Sheesh you guys
Hans Zimmer‘s Soundtrack created for the The Ring, and in collaboration with Fiachra Trench, Henning Lohner and Martin Tillmann for The Ring and The Ring Two Soundtrack between 1999 and 2001 made a huge influence for mindtraveling and getting into the gruesomeness environment the movie required up to get that level of grim intensity, at the height that I think that such movie is what it is because of its soundtrack. Then we receive something that might not repeat for decades, a horror story from Japan with a good context, then it was transformed to the American/European movie format by Gore Werbinski, then we summon the Soundtrack which is flawless, remarkable also the casting: Stephen Dorff and Naomi Watts whom made the heart touch and sensibility for such film, I can’t see better circumstances for making a film majestic. I’m some sad that you can’t find the soundtrack anywhere, except for unreachable prices, and no one remember Hans Zimmer for this one, which is for me his greatest work in life, even over Batman series, no compilation from him has these tracks, and unbelievable how many friend until nowadays 2023 didn’t even know about the last track: “Television”, which is just theatrical, having Hans Zimmer joining the row for Nü Metal and Trash Metal, personally it’s a gem, having all these factors, at times where Korn, Coal Chamber, Fear Factory, Crematory, Rob Zombie, Rammstein, Mudvayne, Murderdolls, Stone Sour, Slipknot, Powerman 5000, Static X and other ones from Roadrunner Records were on the top. Those were good times, the film wouldn’t be such height by itself but for the music, as Hans Zimmer revealed after it: “After the sweetness of the King of Egypt I needed to go deep below in my dark side to find my self there”, as this was understandable a dark, sad side from Hans, I cannot understand it other way, it is therefore to me His best Work in His whole life so far. I thank to all the watchers and fans, also this channel for working this scene and arrangement, I enjoy too much being here, whether made by fans or by original artists, it’s such a pleasure sharing lifetime in this scene, I call it Hans Zimmer’s Dark Room, not overreacting this soundtrack will be classic music about sixty years from now, lately the world will understand its importance.
