David, always good to have special guests👍 Stunning tropical N.I weather☀with super air clarity. A great approach into the Western Mournes (you have reminded me how cool it is and that it is well worth another visit👍). I can see why Eagle is a favourite camp spot👍 It looks like I need to get me a camping chair🪑😊 Beautiful evening light as the sun was setting and a fantastic shot of you both on the summit☀👍 You got some sunrise☀☀ I didn't know that launching the drone from your sleeping bag was even a thing😊 The cliffs were a great walk to round off a cool adventure👍👍
Thank you Gerry, I think our weather is broken, it’s not supposed to be that good. I flew the drone from the tent because I was too lazy to get out of bed at 5am, but it made for an interesting shot.
That looked like a blistering hot day David, hard walking up from Windy gap in that heat! I know exactly how you feel about the top of the mountain, I can't not go and touch the cairn!! Here, I imagine that could have got messy if you kicked over James 🍺🤬🤣Loved the footage too from the bog cotton to the epic drone shots, really showcased the Mournes. Did you do any colour grading on that footage? Looks like you done a bit of speed ramping too, pretty cool!!
Cheers mate, did a bit of colour grading and speed ramping, but not much, check out my meelmore video were I went to town with grading and ramping ua-cam.com/video/sW3trS48Cj0/v-deo.html
Hi, there are several similar walls in the mourne mountains, this one is called batts wall and marks the boundary of batts estate, I don’t know about its history but the most famous and longest wall in the area is called the Mourne Wall, it’s 22 miles long, 5-6ft high and goes over 15 summits including the highest, it was built in the early 1900s to keep livestock from polluting the reservoirs and mark the boundary of the waterboard, it took 18 years to complete.
