  • Amoli, the groundbreaking film on child trafficking has been awarded with the National Award under the Best Investigative Film category.
Viva Presents 'Amoli' - Priceless. A powerful documentary film on the shocking truths about the lesser known business of child sex trade in India.
Threaded together by spine-chilling personal accounts of survivors of the trade, and narrated by Nani in Telugu, the film explores the inner workings of this business that has come to engulf every village and city of our nation.
It all begins with the customer. Customers who demand children. It is estimated that 2.4 to 3.6 million children in India, are currently trapped in this heinous trade because of that demand.
The only way to put an end to this monstrosity is stricter laws, zero tolerance and merciless punishment for these customers.

I'm a mother of two kids, a boy and a girl baby. Its becoming must to protect both boy and girl child from molestation or other horrible circumstances. I Know I have to protect my baby in her childhood mainly, but will make her stronger mentally and physically to face and fight any complex situation. But my duty not ends here. I have to educate my son also about moral values, specially related to women. I have explain him what is molestation, rape, and how these bad things will affect a girl's heart and body. Hope every mother does the same. This might not be a solution. But this is at least what we can do, living in this society

Its about social awareness which we require now... I am educated, independent and working woman... But still I also fear to go out of the house if its dark.. not even till the end of the street... Just scared that someone or a group of people pull me into the woods beside the road... If we are only like that, imagine the situation of the other uneducated, minor girls...
Even if we work for night shift, if it's a girl for last drop they give security guard... its necessary. Why our society itself not safe for us??
Parents pray everyday for their children to come home safely... But they are homes which are not safe for their own girls... pathetic.. there is even molestation... Many unopened voices in our own families itself...
They are many unanswered questions in us... As Gandhiji said when a girl walks on road midnight without fear that is the real independence... I wish I see that one day!

Yes, my dear friend what you said is absolutely right. Not only the uneducated people are doing this, the sad thing is even educated people and ppl who have social awareness are encouraging these things. Instead of creating awareness in the ppl who are not aware, they are behaving like animals. Even small children are being molested.

The opening scene has opened up lot of insights on their lives, the rescued were not willing to come out, they needed a lot of assurance, they couldn't believe that someone could actually come to their rescue. They aren't even adults , yet shockingly lost their hope on their lives already. They couldn't even trust another lady accompanied by the police to help them. They lost trust at a very young age, further into the plot, it shows they lost trust in family, neighborhood, good samaritans and lost faith in never known humanity.

Unseen and unknown facts of a country which speaks heritage of culture and finally women as an "object".
.There should be a rise in public education regarding this from govt... "why to speak about democracy when we don't have freedom to live?" ..
little words can mean a lot..lets take our responsibility in sharing a talk and warn the people who are more close to be a victim of this crime .. we do see them around us at times .. but we never open up ...cautious about our own image.. we should break our walls for better lives of our fellows humans.

A must watch and a must be shared video!! Thank You Viva for putting this up.
True...not just stricter laws death penalty to the trafickers and the customers is the only way. In India. Punishments even like imprisonmemt for life doesn't work. Even if there is a slight evidence they need to be killed. Once they fear only then they stop.
Balance of fear is the only way that works for sick population like us. Yes we are sick. Even ignoring such evil around is also a sickness and is inhuman. Shame on ourselves.
You don't need to react. At least be aware...
Protect at least the ones around you. Educate them.
Every parent should talk openly about this to their children. Educate them.

When we see some one taking bribes or not fallowing the traffic rules we tend to criticize them ...but when we are in a hurry to our works we tend to do the same mistake.....
We never recognise our own mistakes and points finger to others....this is general psychology of human being ....be it men or women ..
Women speak of gender discrimination and wants to see a change in the society ....but when it comes to her children she discriminates(not every mother) her daughter against her son....this continues for generations....
I don't understand why don't she make a change & be an example for the society by treating equally of her own children this makes the real change in society as mother plays an important role in the attitude of children....and when we see this kind of documentaries we feel bad, sad and what not......but the point is how many of men treating women with respect as they do with Thier family...this change in attitude is important for a society to travel towards the development.....
Hope every one of us change, treat women with due respect ....jai hind
