Very good stuff. There is so much lurking under the surface which feeds into consciousness and our experience of the world, which we simply don't understand. I think Psychoanalysis as a project understood this, but kept going down dead ends. I hope that modern neuroscience can help clarify the picture.
Interesting video! I stumbled upon this topic while doing a course in philosophy of neurosciences. I found it extremely intriguing the granularity imprinted on the movement when, for example, trying to reach for the cane. What would happen, in that test, if the doctor told the patient to reach for the cane but he actually hids it from him. Would the patient have attempted any move at all? If not, can he relate that absence of movement with the absence of the "possiblity of reaching the cane" in his movement spectrum? So many questions!
