I keep checking the weather on my app and it looks cold there... I spent last winter there and froze... I am spending this winter in my sisters driveway in Florida... It is almost hot here... 😎
try living in western canada fpr winter, beem in the minus 20's plus for 3 weeks now, that celsius....my last winter here next year quartzsite, but not BLM...too old for that
I recall Quartzite as very dusty. Many years ago we checked it out to do the flea market. We were antique dealers. I remember telling my late husband, this grit will destroy our beautiful things, the kids lungs too! Needless to say we went back to Laughlin and he did LA that weekend. I do have a ton of stones and gems to sell however. So maybe...
My wife and I are planning to do our first RTR. I have been to Quartzsite before and did have a nice time, the grocery choices are not great but it was okay. Great info. Thank you for posting.
I just pulled into the Dome Rock camping area yesterday with one of the HOWA caravans. I'll try and look you up at LaPosa, and see if you need a hand with the bus.
I spent some time in Quartzite and the Coyote Market and the Roadrunner were both good for groceries. Blythe, CA was best for full service super markets. Both the Dollar stores are good too.
We go rockhounding in the Quartzsite area every winter. Coyote Fresh is a good place to go if you just want one or two items. If you need to make a grocery haul, you will get the lowest prices and best selection if you drive to Parker, CA and shop at the Wal-Mart there. Many of the rock and gem vendors at the showgrounds only accept cash. If you need to withdraw cash, there are just a few places with ATMs in Quartzsite and the lines get long in January. Instead, you can use your debit card to get cash back when you checkout at Wal-Mart and avoid an ATM fee. Last year, the two Running Man service stations in Parker had the best fuel prices for both gasoline and diesel of any fuel station in or near Quartzsite, but not sure how their prices currently compare to those at the truck stop in Quartzsite. In Quartzsite there are plenty of RV repair and parts shops and places to get a quick tire replacement for your jeep or ATV (found this out the hard way). There are also some local RV repair businesses that specialize in making "housecalls" to the nearby BLM camping areas and their workers have plenty of experience doing repairs. There is a small business near the main intersection in Quartzsite where you can dump your tanks and fill your freshwater tank for a modest fee if you are boondocking instead to staying at a campground with full hook-ups.
Gas and Diesel were cheaper in Quartzsite this year. I haven't checked for 2 weeks, but last time it was 15 cents a gallon difference. Might be competition between Terribles, Arco and the rest.
I love 'Ross & The Boss' at the produce stand! They're a welcome addition this year. Also, the discount grocers at Tyson Wells is not the same owner as Ken's discount on Main St. Both have great variety though👍
you do know if you drive just a little bit further west, there is Blythe and the Colorado River. I 10 from AZ to California, its always just been a pit top.
going to town make sure you wear seat belt and expect super tail gaters and people pulling out right in front of you or passing at 80 to 100 mph in the 35 to 55 mph zones and side by sides going by at 30 to 50 miles per hour in the camp areas( speed limit in camp and roads 15 mph )
But where do ya get pie? I hoping my Bigfoot will be ready for pickup tomorrow (engine replaced under warranty), a new Jackery 2000 arrives Tuesday, then leaving these freeze warnings on coastal Oregon to head back to La Posa South until March. See ya down there. Fair Winds.
Are there places to lock up a bike in town near the grocery stores? I was thinking about cruising down there but I like to run errands using my bicycle so I don't need a toad car.
Good content I enjoyed the video. My goal is to be out on the road by Spring 2023 if I have to find somebody to go that will drive I am single I'm 61 and not allowed to drive at the moment. Mainly Vision issues that should be straightened out by then. Nevertheless I am getting out there one way or another 2023. Very Merry Christmas to everybody out there wherever you're spending it enjoy it make the most of every day
@@Livingit1 Oh no! I'm very sorry that happened to him :( Yes, I'm sure many will miss the store. You know what, after reading your response, I came across a post on fb about some lady claiming that the store plans to reopen. I'm not sure how true is this.
Slums? People go here because it is in the middle of nowhere. I prefer being in more secluded area than confined to a rat maze city. The constant hum of the city drives people crazy.
On somethings others about a 3rd. Surprisingly things like propane and gas weren't bad last year. This year I'm adding a chest freezer to my bus for bulk Mears and vegetables. Instead of parker, I plan to shop more in Yuma AZ as well.
I really do not understand the fascination with Quartsite. It's barren, dirty/dusty, with Zero character other than the fact that humans flock there during the winter. Why... well I'm guessing that somewhere along the line, someone start an Urban Legend that it's where the Cool People go.
They have a rock and gem show, gold mining show, RV show, and other events in the area. There is alot of free camping. To some myself included, the desert is a beautiful place with amazing sunsets and sunrise. The area has become a meeting area for all kinds of nomadic groups. They have Toyota motorhome gathering, Wanderlodge meet up, Class A motorhome meet ups, Escapees meet here in winter as well. Florida us to humid for me. 60s and 70s appeal to alot of people. Quartzsite is not for everyone but I like it and call it my winter home. I meet with friends each year here and most of us travel other parts of country in summer. As far as barren and no character, I would disagree and could actually show you some cool things if you had a open mind!
Thanks for the tour
Nice work with the camera!!
Great vibe too!
Glad I found ya!!
Thanks and welcome to the channel!
Thank You for Sharing the Go To Businesses👍👍⬆️😎‼️
Thanks for the video and info on groceries stores. The produce stand looked good. I hope they will be there in January.
They said all season!
Coffee. Must have coffee. Want!
Nice view of tyson wells, Cool to see it grow in stages . Lots of parking right now. LOL
Best video yet practical info about Quartzsite. A way to start my "remote visit" to Quartzsite during the RTR. Thank you very much!
Double-checked the RTR starting date.
It is January 13th, and the RV show starts on January 21st. 🙋
Thanks for being our tour guide to Quartzsite, very very informative, please keep them coming!!
I end up going to Parker. There is a Wal Mart and across the street is a Safeway.
Thanks for the update!

Yes having a cold spell. But I don't do well in humidity. Lived in north Florida for 13 years.

@Richard Cockerill I ran loads to Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario when I drove truck.
Groceries don’t do well in cold temperatures. Consider fasting.
I'm waking up to 48* @ 7am. It's going to be 61* this afternoon. It's January 3.
Thanks, going to check out produce place tomorrow
very informative. Can't wait to see it when it's packed.

Dust depends where you camp. But it is the desert and dust is always present.
Good info again ! Look forward to your videos.
Funny seeing home big Quartxite has become. My grand parents were part of the original main event founders.
Great production and narration. Thank you.
Great video, the rv dealer on Main is one of the partners from the place that was at main and Riggles. This is his first year in that spot.
My friend Dick Cloud ran his rv sales in Q, he passed away 2 years ago. His wife and I are best friends in Colorado. Headed to Q in January!
45 minutes north in parker az. wally world.
This is one of the reasons so many folks go to Yuma/senators wash instead of quartzite. Groceries and many other conveniences.
Nice to see someone keeping an eye on Quartzsite since RVTV skipped town... Keep it up..
LOL Russ will be back for big show, I'm sure. It's funny that our paths have never crossed.
Cool video I will subscribe, been there a few times & glad to see that everything isn't overrun...no doubt there's a lot of room out there
Welcome to channel
Just ran across your Channel. Great info. Maybe our paths will cross out there.
Thank you. Safe travels
Sounds like you're a good cook.
Not great but like food lol
The red tent across the street from the post office has a foods section and some fresh food. Really good cheeses.
My wife and I are planning to do our first RTR. I have been to Quartzsite before and did have a nice time, the grocery choices are not great but it was okay. Great info. Thank you for posting.
Plan to do a little coverage of RTR for those who can't attend.
@@Livingit1 yeah, maybe a live stream! I might have to on my Starlink
Have you ever boiled radishes like potatoes. They lose the red and turn pink and they're sweet totally different and delicious
Sounds like I need to try that!
Really nice and informative video! Do people get stuck after rains like the one you guys just had?
In summer maybe during monsoons very seldom in the winter time.
Great video! When we were vending there we'd usually go to Yuma or Parker for our bigger grocery hauls.
Same here

Randy Jones from Incrediboxes Tiny Homes (sp) out of Newport Tennessee will be in Quartzite Jan 21st I believe!

There's a man in a pick up truck selling veggies out of it. Also local honey from Thom

Coyote Fresh has their own bakery so pie might be an option

Ask the R Ver great channel ask Russ
Where is the best place to park in LaPosa West if you want to walk to the RV show tent?
It's closest to Show so it fills up quickly. The best spots fill first, but all are a reasonable walk for average person.

No lines at Laguna LTVA north of Yuma.
I went down To Needle for miger store.
It seems that Ken's store went out of business :( By chance, do you know if there are other similar salvage grocery stores in Quartzsite?
There is one at the big tent that I also shop. Ken had a stroke and lost his eye sight. His store will be missed by many.
@@Livingit1 Oh no! I'm very sorry that happened to him :( Yes, I'm sure many will miss the store. You know what, after reading your response, I came across a post on fb about some lady claiming that the store plans to reopen. I'm not sure how true is this.
Is there any fresh water lakes in the area that offers fishing opportunities?
Colorado River and several reservoirs.
Hi
What dates is the BIG TENT UP , please?
1st or second week of January they will put it up but RV show is January 21st thru 29th
Pretty much the slums i would expect in a place called quartzsite, pretty much in the middle of nowhere.
Slums? People go here because it is in the middle of nowhere. I prefer being in more secluded area than confined to a rat maze city. The constant hum of the city drives people crazy.
why not drive to walmart in parker, a bit cheaper, but if it's just for yourself i guess it isn't
Good for bulk shopping, but produce and everyday I try to shop locally.
Blythe is an alternative when traffic isn't too congested
I here the price of everything is about double what you normally would pay any truth to that?
On somethings others about a 3rd. Surprisingly things like propane and gas weren't bad last year. This year I'm adding a chest freezer to my bus for bulk Mears and vegetables. Instead of parker, I plan to shop more in Yuma AZ as well.
Ken’s Discount Grocery is mostly out of date stuff that he gets from who knows where.
Have no reason to visit there especially with all the snowbirds there where here home I have warm weather been through there for work not impressed
Not US 95, AZ 95
Yes my mistake
Probably said US 95 from habit livin in FL so long as thats the big 95 - right?..
😉
