  • At a facility for the elderly run by a major insurance company near Tokyo, data on the residents’ daily activities is collected and made “transparent” using digital technology. Rather than relying solely on intuition and experience, caretakers use this data to optimize workflows. This segment documents how data is being used to improve the lives of the residents and help reduce staff workload.

I'm a South Korean studying Data Science at a US college. and I think supporting elderly people by using big data is truly fascinating. I've read an article that many Japanese elderly people who are suffering from financial matters have chosen to be imprisoned on purpose because they couldn't afford themselves. And I've studied that the Japanese government has already invested a huge amount of money in this field. I wonder what's their alternative plan on such poor elderly people in Japan, and what the most effective way to activate poor elderly people to make a profit by collaborating with the young generation in Japan. I want to meet up and hear opinions on the topic from the young generation in Japan.
